My Jamie (tefal) ones need replacing. They have had plenty of use over the 8 years but the coating is starting to come away. I will probably get the same but if anyone knows of better then let me know. Jamie ones will probably be approx. £100 for 3 (30cm, 24cm and 20cm ish). I like a heavy pan as well as one that can be put into the oven. Love all metal (not keen on plastic handles).

Anything better than jamie?

Another vote for Tefal from me.

Le Creuset.
Fantastic.

dunno, the wife buys them. Saying that, i think hers are cast iron judging by how much they hurt when hits me with one of them

Le Creuset.
Fantastic.

We bought a full set of these when we got married 40 years ago. We are still using them, and they will still be serviceable when we are pushing up daisies.

Not cheap, but as SWMBO said at the time -"Buy cheap and you buy twice". She was right; these have been fantastic value.

I'm surprised you of all people bought a foreign product!

My new stir fry pan is a Circulon 'Genesis'. Bought it in Lakeland about 3 months ago, so it's early days to be certain about its durability but it seems to be very robust. Plus it gets up quickly and evenly and is very resistant to stuff sticking.

Here's the phone camera snap I took of it as a memory jogger when we were out shopping.

Le Crueset if you want to spend some, they are very good - do a stainless steel range, which works very well on my Induction hob.

I've also a Brabantia pan set which are very good - again, tend to have to buy decent quality for it to work on the Induction hob.

Have had a Tefal one previously and apart from (as yours) the coating coming off, was very pleased with it...

Have a look in JL. I bought a decent one there a few months ago, suitable for oven as well as hob. Mainly used for tarte tatin. £40 for a 10" one. The others are Tefal of assorted vintages, none of which have moulted.

Just got a new Tefal for about 35 quid off the 'zon. Very very good indeed. I can now make vegan pancakes :)

Take a look at their Preference Pro range.

Cheers guys. Le cruset too much so will try to take a look at pro cook although leaning back to Jamie, if only as it matches saucepans.

Currently using Meyer Anolon with the hard anodised non-stick coating which as resisted all the abuse I throw at them. However, the imminent installation of an induction hob (imminent is a relative time frame as I do all the DIY in my house apart from electrics, due to part P, and plastering, due to it being a black art) means that I'm replacing them as they are aluminum and will be getting the equivalent steel pans from the same manufacturer. Circulon I think they are called.

I bought three Circulon frying pans (and three saucepans) a couple of years ago from TKMax, and none of them cost more than £19. The best ones are the stainless steel outer shell with the heavy stainless base, because I have found that the all alloy, grey Circulons go out of shape on the base, and then the pans tend to spin on the hob if touched - not very safe.

Fissler - I got mine on the Tesco offer , as the are pretty expensive full price
