Anyone else ever find photography frustrating?

When things just dont seem to go right, or you're over critical of your shots and end up hating them? Or is it just me?

Yesterday annoyed me (and I know it shouldn't) as I went out for a drive to the Peaks to see if I could catch anything. Nice lovely sky as I'm in the car, climb up the hill to see the sun has now hid behind a big dark rain cloud... yep its coming my way! I got soaked coming back down :( also annoyed at myself that I didn't scout out the area first either, I found nothing for a bit of interest, just a crap footpath!

So tonight I'd thought I'd revisit some of my older pics and have a play to only end up hating whatever I do or just find it boring (the image). :bang:

I know I need to practice more and improve a great deal but I guess I'm just beating myself up a bit. Oh well, rant over and back to the drawing board  :cuckoo:

Yes. All the time. So does everyone else!

Peak district will still be there tomorrow. Go out again. Take a brolly :D

All the time too... but just enjoy it, you got out for a walk and can do it all again another day and maybe get something.
I some times have a look at google earth before i go somewhere, can sometimes help look for areas of interest.

Yes - very. Stod waiting patiently for a train, can hear it coming, just coming into view and BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP Battery empty!

Yep

#1 Trying to find a decent photo opportunity in the first place.
#2 Trying to make the best of the image in processing.
#3 Posting here and having not a single comment, (mostly), or being told it's boring, without any constructive crit.

Photography is often frustrating - as is being your own greatest critic.:bang:

Think it's a case of 'practise makes perfect'

Thank you :) Last thing I want is to carry something else up a hill!! I should have stopped and put my rain coat on but didn't realise how wet I was until I got down! (At least I had a spare change of clothes in the car! :)

Peaks sure are, and been a cracking 'set I missed again tonight! Ah well, always another day!

Google Earth is a cracking idea! Will keep that in mind for next time! Really I need to venture further up into the hills and go for a proper walk again!

Yep got that right! Sometimes I think I shouldn't look at a photo for too long!

A motivational speaker once told me practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect! God knows how you're supposed to do that!!
