Yes
just upgraded to lightroom 3 and it has the built in publish to flickr, but for the life of me I can't get it to work and really don't have any clues.

:help: please

I've just got the trial and found this a real pain. I suspect once you know all the ins and outs its a gem, but for now...

Ok, here's what you do to get the basics. First up, you have to configure it to work with flickr. Give it usernames and passwords etc. I presume you got that far, if not lemme know.

Ok, so, now you want to upload. Lets presume you've been using the develop module. Switch to the library module and select grid view. From the filmstrip at the bottom choose the image/images that you want to upload. Now, hold down the left mouse button and drag them accross to the photostream. Next, click on the photostream. It'll give you the option to publish. Click publish, and the images appear on your photostream.

Haven't yet figured how to add to sets etc other than manually after upload.

Thanks squawk :)

I have it working now, I was missing out on the adding the photos as pointed out by the guys in IRC, was just about to update the thread but you saved me the work :)

Hehe, no worries. And oooh, IRC, two ticks

Yes, Jeffrey's plug in is far more flexible that the Adobe one.

Agreed.

and the Adobe publishing module has one major flaw that meant I left it for dust. If you make any changes to a published photo in Lightroom, keywords, whatever, it requires you to republish that image, before you can publish any more. There's no option to skip republishing an image.

When you republish an image to Flickr, the image file gets a new URL, so anywhere you've posted the pic, such as here, ends up with a 'image not available' white rectangle.

The only thing you can do is to start a new Flickr Publish Service.
