Does anyone know if there is a way of copying music from old cassette tapes onto cd,s?:)

If you have a tape player you can get audio leads to connect the tape to your PC and copy to hard drive then to CD.

Cheers guys,i think the leads are the way to go.:):D

Great minds,i just remembered that programme & have now d/loaded it.:):D

LOL .... my sons 51 plate Golf has a tape player in it ,i tried one of my old tapes in it but unfortunately no joy . 7

Ah the days of fast forwarding to you favorite track ,chewed up tapes ,sorting them using a pen :).

I remember using the pen a lot to wind the tapes tight.:):D

USB tape decks are a thing.
As Neil said, you can get USB cassette players which convert tape direct to USB. I paid about £15 for mine and use Audacity to tiby up the sound and split it into individual tracks. If it's for an old tape that you can download as an MP3 you might want to take the opportunity to get a good version without wow and flutter but if it's for something you've recorded and want to preserve it's worth the time and effort.

Like jockwav above I remember winding tapes back in with a pen and on occasions I gave a tape a new cassette as it wouldn't play or had to repair a tape with sellotape because the tape player chewed it up. Don't miss those days at all.

Edit - sorry, I forgot to answer your question about putting onto CD. I don't want to assume your knowledge but here's a basic how to.

Once you've edited the MP3 you can pop them in a folder and make either a CD which will hold a dozen or so tracks depending on their size but play on any CD player or you can make an MP3 disk which can hold up to a couple of hundred tracks but only play on newer CD players. My last two cars have been able to play MP3 CDs so they're widespread now. I use CD burner XP but most burning programs can write these files.
