Tried to watch the rugger last night on ITV4 and was given an error message. It was only France so no great loss, but it might be someone important soon. Didn't know what to do.

This morning a postacard arrives from someone called Let's be Clear at 800. They claim that an upgrade to 4G mobile services round here is causing disruption. They say a filter on something is needed, and someone will ring me tomorrow to run through some checks. They claim this is free. No such thing as a free lunch!

Anyone else experienced anything like this, and is this company kosher?
 
I had a free filter. It didn't help at all! I eventually bought another one that also filtered TETRA broadcasts out and that did actually help. You also need to make sure all aerial connections are the best they can be and that the aerial is aligned correctly to get the best signal.
 
It is legit and it helped with reception in our situation ... and there is no cost.
However, make sure you have done a full new channel scan as the settings recently changed and that will affect reception :)
 
Thanks guys. Yes, doing a scan now. Sounds like is more upgrading that sends things backwards.
 
George Osborne made a quick buck flogging part of the TV spectrum to 4g providers. His next plan is to force TV and mobile to share what's left.
 
A technical "expert" is going to ring me at 5PM today. Whether he/she knows the difference between the backside of a cow and a street lamp remains to be seen. Cynical old me says they are just going to try ro sell me some useless tat that comes with no refund possible when it doesn't work.

My main loss is ITV4 and all I watch on that is Europe League when I'm bored to tears, so no great loss. But why should I give up what is mine to yet another faceless and useless technology company?
 
Have you done a scan for new channels yet? I lost ITV4 until I rescanned & it popped up again on a different frequency.
 
Yeah. It's returned.
Did yet another scan waiting for the call and suddenly everything has returned.
Didn't work yesterday, did work today.
That'll do me.

Call from "helpdesk" now overdue!
