French Newspaper publishes with no images

Publicity stunt? And just in case people think they're being ripped off, let's print the images anyway but in the back pages...

Nod that's a very sceptical view. I figured they printed the images at the back for two reasons, one to show the layout with words so people can see how many images are used and second to ensure photographers didn't lose out because of this version. Maybe I'm too optimistic :-)

I didnt know about the back pages.. However...no matter what the papers reason.. the effect is still the same for anyone reading.. they will see how important photogrpahy is and surely thats the message...

So...well done Libération

It may be a publicity stunt but hopefully it will get people thinking.
It would be interesting to have a copy of the newspaper and see if the words without images are more, or less, informative than the images without words at the back.

Publicity stunt or not, it's bloody effective either way. In an age when everyone (including clients) seem to take photography for granted (and everyone is a 'photographer'), this is really quite powerful.

Fascinating psychology - a newspaper with no images gets the point across far more effectively than page after page of Pulitzer Prize-winners.

It won't change anything though...
