Freebie airshow practice in Northants

If you want some practice at shooting formation aerobatics, are within travelling distance of Sywell Aerodrome near Northampton and around on weekdays then The Blades aerobatic team are currently practicing most days prior to the airshow season. Viewing facilities are excellent and free (unless you use the bar facilities!), big car park, grassy bank and benches, toilets food and beer in the adjacent Aviator Hotel and a great view of the airfield.

You can get times & dates for their practice sessions on the aerodrome website, linked below, where you'll see the weekly practice schedule at the bottom of the status page. These practice sessions continue all Spring and often during the summer as well when they're not away. Well worth popping along and a great opportunity to practice your airshow techniques.

Well worth a visit taken a few pics of them good to watch and as said you can get close for free

used to work there alot, dont eat the ceasar salad in the restuarant otherwise the bar is something to see. full of lots of old memorabilia. also some amazing craft hiding in the hangers.
