I can retouch skin in less than a minute too....no big deal......

just popped it on out of curiosity

'now our energy is flowing in the same direction'

apparently, its a hollistic approach to photography ^_-

To what level though ? is that using an action ?, try dodging and burning in less then a minute.

Did Bambi say to what level?

Ps no actions either apart from the ones I have built my self......(no gausian blur either)

She is so condascending (is that how you spell it) and is very annoying but unfortunately im still watching, if I was the bloke who she has told on more than one occasion, you are much more intelligent than you look, i would have seriously told her to f--k off :)

she talks faster than my wife on a tantrum ,but seems worth listening to [glad the wife does not look outside facebook]

Why are 90% of your replies on this forum negative?

I can retouch skin in less than a minute....as to how much is a different matter....you need to lighten up.

Not at all, my initial post about Bambi was taking the Mick, I wasn't seriously laying into her!

Then you replied with a sarky comment, and went on to make a blanket statement that you can retouch skin in less than a minute, like anyone that takes longer doesn't know what they're doing or something, when in fact, as you may or may not know, advanced skin retouching takes hours.

I would actually love to discuss skin retouching and techniques with people on here, but last time I brought it up and said I retouch beauty for hours I got a remark to say my pictures must be bad in the first place lol. It's nothing other than not knowing, which I appreciate I guess.

I'm a light hearted person honestly, sometimes I guess what I write and find amusing, other people take seriously :(

So it is alright for you to make amusing comments but not me?

Typical response from you....you always make out that you are the greatest thing since sliced bread...there are all levels of photographer on these forums, you should understand that.

That also means there all types of personality too so we need to make aware sometimes, that we are joking...I know you know where the smilies are....:)

Guys, just to get bock on track, what did you think of it?
Apart from her being very annoying and it could have been massively condensed, I thought there was some interesting stuff going on, though her images on the tether didn't look all that, to me.

Greatest thing since sliced bread??? I've never said or implied that I'm great at anything, the fact I use advanced retouching methods for skin means I know what the are, it doesn't mean my application of them is any good!!

Well, if that's a typical response from me and my input isn't constructive or of any help to anyone I just won't post

She obviously is successful and has her way of doing things......kudos for getting out there and showing her 'way'.......some good points in the bits I viewed but the annoying pace of her chatter is what stops me and I guess many, from watching a whole episode.

I got distracted and didn't really catch much, the stuff I did catch I can't remember anything significant apart from her manner being a bit off for my listening threshold (< politically correct statement).

@Danny If you have a skin retouching thread or want to discuss something then please start one, I've done a bit and every time I see it done I learn something new, looking back at earlier attempts before the last I try alway's makes me cringe ;)

Well I love both Tom and Danny equally. Can we just have a group hug and continue to bitch about the yanks?

I find her delivery typically American (please feel free to subsitute annoying for American), I don't like the cheesy style, come to that I think the whole thing is a bit dated and unimaginative - but I'm sure that if only I could put that to the back of my mind and watch it I would learn something, because every one of us can pick up at least something from everyone we watch or talk to.

Fact is, there's just so much to learn that we should all take advantage of these free tutorials and force ourselves to watch every minute of them. I only wish that I had the self discipline to actually do it:)

never mind retouching - I can touch real skin in a few seconds!

I have been watching off and on, and I suspect a lot of people could learn a fair bit if they could get past the inane non stop chatter.

She has some good ideas, but the main topic that seems to come through is to ensure the light is where you need it, not just where it falls. She also deliberately moves the models into poses which will automatically cause parts of the body that are potentially closer to the light to be in shadow and thus not so intrusive in the final image.

She also has some good ideas about how to make the body look less unattractive by ensuring that extremities are placed well to prevent compression of the items from changing their shape for the worse.

Having looked at many images on here with over lit shoulders arms and chests compared to the face so many people members could do with a quick prod in the right direction.
Including the odd person who has posted in this thread

To be fair, her posing techniques were great, and very effective without being complicated in the slightest. I would've learnt a lot admittedly but just her chat and attitude got right on my nerves.

I have to agree with you and Ed, I'm sure if I could mute her and still learn I would but she just talks so much crap that I can't watch her for long enough to learn, from what I have managed to catch I have actually picked up some stuff on posing etc.. :).

I only watched 10 mins of the session (call came in during the intermission and I never got back to it) but don't confuse "I have an annoying voice and somewhat patronising manner" with "I have nothing to teach you".

I spent 4 days in a castle with Bambi Cantrell a few years ago. A lot of the things I do today I can trace back to that time.
