Yes
I'm sure most Sky customers will know about this, but just in case you didn't;
Sky broadband customers can get a free wireless booster by logging in to your sky online account and simply requesting it. I did, and it makes a big difference to wireless reception upstairs.
I believe the free offer ends on Jan 31st so get in quick.

or not because its not on my customer offer page.

seems that its only free for some customers. on my upgrade page:

"Sky Wireless Booster
£20 one off"

Its on mine, just ordered it

For some reason I can't get at the page to order as it comes up with an error message. I tried a couple of weeks ago and it said that my router was an older model and recommended that I get the new Sky Hub first.........which was FREE !!(y)

Received it within a few days although I must admit I still can't a great signal in the far corner of the house. Hence trying to order the booster still.

There's nothing like a freebie or two :p

Was the same on my page Neil but Sky told me to go to "upgrade your package" and i was there for free

We had one delivered this week and if seems to work OK.

Trying to figure out who we know who has a sky account to get another now :)

@Neil

i had the same issue, gave them a call and they sent 1 out, im out of contract in a week or so and they were still happy to do one for free :)

made a big difference here, all though dont expect the same speed from this as your router, but for us we couldn't get anything in our room, now we have full signal, be it slower but hey, its FREE.

it also has the little adsl cable, so you can plug that into skybox or laptop, xbox or anything to make it wireless :runaway:

I also spoke to them today and they said they'd charge me £20 if I ordered over the phone even though I said I couldn't seem to order it online. :-(

The link on the sky page is working now, ordered mine last night, got email this morning confirming the order. I tried on Thursday to order it but the link was sendeing me eslewhere, chatted to one of their guys online who checked the link then said it was broken and he would inform his techy guys. I left it a couple of days before trying again. If you have the old type router which apparently is not compatible with the wifi booster they will send you a new one free of charge which you need to use for a week before reordering the booster.

working for me now. just put through my order.

hopefully itll work with my tp-link and save me £30 :D

just watch the small print before submitting, it reads like they may reset your contract for another 12 months.

Glad some found it useful.

Just wondering if anyone who ordered the free sky wifi booster after Jan' 20th has received theirs yet, still waiting on mine. I ordered mine on Jan 20th.

Need it soon so i don't feel so guilty having to sit in the backroom to use the computer, hopefully it will give a wee boost to the sitting room so I can use lappy there and the missus can see a bit more of me :)

I’ve just come back from my daughters who got one from sky for free 3 months ago.

She noticed last month that she had been debited £22 from her account for it, on checking up with sky this week she found out that they haven’t charged her a penny and that there is a fraud going on about this, talking to her bank and sky they have confirmed this and the bank have repaid her £66.

its not a scam.
somehow after ordering her free booster she had her bank account hacked for a direct debit for £22 to sky subscriptions.
if you know my daughter you will know she is very careful with things.

anyone else just had this hit their email?

Hello,

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: ACTION REQUIRED

I'm writing to you because our records show that you have an On Demand Connector and/or a Sky Wireless Booster in use in your home. Please refer to the images below to see whether you are currently using one of these.

Our quality checking process has identified a possible safety issue with the power adaptor that was included with your product. Our investigations tell us this issue only affects a small number of units, but it's important to carry out the steps below to identify whether the fault exists on yours.

How to check your power adaptor

• First of all, switch off the electricity at the wall socket
• If you don’t have a switch at the wall socket, please turn off your electricity at the mains. If you are concerned about doing this then please call us and we’ll be happy to help
• Carefully unplug the power adaptor from the wall socket
• If the power adaptor feels loose or starts to come apart while you're unplugging it, then please check again that you have switched the electricity off at the wall socket or the mains
• Once you’ve removed the power adaptor please check to see if it has both screws fully inserted as per the picture. Please be aware that the screws are sunken and may be quite difficult to spot. If one or both screws are missing, do not plug the adaptor back in.

If you find that the adaptor is missing one or both screws, or you have any concerns then please call, free of charge on 08000 152 582 if you are in the UK or 1800 927 494 if you are in the Republic of Ireland, and we will arrange to exchange it for a new unit immediately.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, but customer safety is our primary concern.

Regards

Kinda glad I sold mine now as it was rubbish :D
