to be honest free services are probably going to have advertising you can't control or odd domain names that really don't look good. You might be worth going for a cheap hosting package (normally less than £5 a month) instead, just to get rid of the ads or any other random restrictions free hosting will give.
There is a recent thread talking about hosting somewhere, will post a link if I can find it.
My friend has got one with Dyana Host, and she says it is less than £3 a month, and I don't think there is any adverts on there. She uses Microsoft FrontPage to edit the site. Her website is really good, so have a look at the DyanaHost website.
I use Pbase if it's just for photo storage. $23 a year for 500Mb - which with the current exchange rate is just over £1 a month. Good service, good templates etc
No, I said I was going to try out that free hosting for you, but I realised that you have to already have a website, and it will transfer your current website to their free hosting package.
Why dont you try setting up a blog, there free and some are very easy to use, plus there great for getting exposure online. You might be thinking well i wanted a website not a blog but lots of companies use blogs as there main website (check wordpress) and the main reason is for marketing.
I'd say check out blogger, blogger is owned by Google and is great for starters.
