Not sure how good they are regarding uptime etc. as I only created a site with them yesterday (not mine, mines paid for), but the Bandwith, and disk space is generous and you have mail and databases if required.

You need to set up the site in Dreamweaver then you can use the built in FTP client.

I think that's a good point! I use http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/ which aren't that expensive and provide good service for what I need.

Ah,
the OP asked for a free host so recommended one I've used for a friend who wouldn't pay for hosting. Mine's paid for and only ever had one problem for around 20 mins

000webhosting may be free but it's not bad.

I've used them for a couple of years, mainly for test sites and practising code etc. I've also hosted a few free blog sites for friends on them. Services aren't great but it's good enough to run basics
