Anyone know if there is any way to send free sms text messages to a mobile in the uk from a pc?

All these things SAY they are free.....msn, skype, etc.......then when you get in and look...you have to buy a balance.

isnt there any way to just send it via the broadband modem that you are allready paying for the use of the incoming/outgoing data?

I have an account with www.o2.com

I did sign up years ago, and got about 3 million texts a day...Since then, theyve whittled it down to 10 a month (free, beyond that you pay), but it's still active.

Not sure if they still accept signups but it's worth a try :)

There used to be a few places (a couple of years ago) where you could send free sms that but they got abused and were withdrawn.

I get 10 free a month from Orange... not sure that helps though.

I have a Mac Widget from which you can send free texts globally - it's very good but Mac only. It's called Callwave if any Mac users care. Did you get your sensor fixed Janice?

Janice I go to the Orange websit and then type in free text message into the search because it is hidden away and I can never find it!!! Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Just do a google search, there are loads of places, most even allow recieving text free as well.

you don't need software most are site based.
