Anyone can recommend one so I can share some photos with family and friends?
 
I have flickr but need something a bit more sophisticated.
 
So what exactly do you want to achieve/are you looking for?

A few more details may help us to point you in the right direction
 
Want to build a portfolio show with some effects such as slide show and so on. To be fair I have flickr for years. I haven't explored flickrs features.
 
Maybe set up a free Wordpress site at Wordpress.com

You could then use one of their free photography themes, see HERE

This would give you something a little more personal to share with family & friends
