Yes
Just a heads up for those that could be interested, the Creativelive website has a 5 day free webcast on the Fundamentals of Digital Photography. It starts Monday 9th April at about 6pm to midnight UK time. :)

Over 5 days they should cover quite a lot, so may be of interest for those who may think they are beyond the basics.

You have the option of asking questions as well via a chat box. Something I've taken advantage of on some of their previous courses. ;) :D

Thank you, having joined yesterday I have already spent the best part of 12 hours consuming lots of information. This course looks great, as although I'm not a beginner, it seems to cover a wide breadth of knowledge that includes improving composition and the more technical aspects to gaining a creative and correct exposure. Cheers!

Pete

Just a reminder for those who may be interested, or didn't see the original post, this course is about to start in about an hour and 20 mins. :)

Its all basics at the moment so a bit boring, unless you are just venturing into photography, still it will get better OK so far if you a complete newbie though

Agree. I have to say, though, I do enjoy watching the basics...it's great now that I understand what they are talking about :D

So, is this on the same time each day throughout the week?

Cheers.

Yep, same time each day.

I thought it was generally very good. He did say one or two things I didn't agree with, and one thing I think he got wrong, but his delivery of the information is very good.

Tomorrow should be good about sensors and lenses. :)

Great...so that's 15.00 - 23.00??

Cheers....

BTW, what did he get wrong?

6pm - 11pm (UK) every day for this course. Their courses are transmitted from Seattle, US, so unless you register the times are shown with the start times there. I think there is an 8 hour time difference at the moment.

I got confused when I originally posted as Creativelive courses normally go from 5pm till midnight.

He said that choosing the colorspace in the camera affected the RAW file, which is wrong akaik. The RAW file is just data though, the colorspace is chosen when processing into a Jpeg or Tiff.

I'm just a beginner but would like to check this out. I'm sure I will learn something, that is if my brain doesn't explode first (There's a lot to learn). I'm from the u.s. could someone tell me what time it starts in military time please. Thanks.

It's being repeated at the moment until today's show starts at 1800hrs to 2300hrs.

Is that military time? ;)

That's UK time. The link I posted above shows what time it starts in Seattle.

Fourth day into this course and it's bloody brilliant. What makes it is not only uncomplicated teacher, but the marvellous visuals which really cement the sometimes complex, technical areas of photography. For anyone who has missed this, I WOULD HIGHLY recommend buying the course. For the best part of £55, you get 20+ hours of video tutorial that you can watch over Andover again as well as some SUPERB PDF slides that go over everything from cameras, lenses, exposure living and composition to name a few.

Obviously I meant lighting....anyone wants a course on living...watch a soap!

Damm it missed this :(
