Ages ago, when I first joined this forum, I remember reading a thread by someone in which they were asking about how to frame shots when their camera was either on the floor or held very close to it.

At that time I had a Canon 600D with live view and a flip out screen, so didn't really get the problem.

While the replacement for that camera also has those features, I bought a much older camera (20D) which doesn't even have live view. I took some shots a few weeks ago when the first of the spring flowers popped out. But it was pure guess work and luck that I managed to get anything at all.

While if you were suitably dressed, I guess you could lie on the floor, but in this instance, I was on my way to work, plus, I was in amongst other flowers which I didn't want to trample or lie on.

So, as I can't find that original thread, what do people do when the shot you're trying to get means you can't look through the viewfinder and you don't have live view.

A pocket/make up mirror laid in front of the LCD would give you a reversed view at least?

Just go for it :)
