I recently switched to using an online printer for my online print sales. (got sick of giving epson all my money just to watch all the ink disappear while the Head Cleaning routine ran!)

I use photobox (and I have to say I've been very pleased with the results so far) The main body of my print sales are A3 (297mm x 420mm) and the quality is excellent.

Anyway they have added a framing option that allows you to choose inner and outer matts and a range of frames - all for a pretty reasonable price.

Take a look here:

Please note that I haven't tried the framing option yet but I will do soon and will let you know how it comes out.

Nigel - I am expecting my first delivery from Photobox - just prints, so will be looking forward to hearing what you have to say about framing..

Do you find places like Photobox better than the likes of Tesco and Asda? I am thinking of trying an online store and wonder which one is the best value for quality. I know many magazines give various stores their 'gold star award' but I'm more interested in peoples personal experiences with them.

:agree: with Nigel about PhotoBox ... ... I use them for all my printing and they have been superb so far ... :D ... reasonable price, first class delivery and great results ... even for canvas prints ... but I have not yet tried the framing option ...

all for a pretty reasonable price.

Looks expensive to me - especially if you then want to make a profit on the sale.

If your sales are mainly A3 I can't believe you are not doing your own mounting. It's pretty simple to get very professional results at low cost. Then do a deal with a local framer and your profit margins will rocket.

Mostly I ship unmounted prints these days.

Then again the majority of my sales are from overseas (I sell approx. 10 - 20 prints per month 80% of which are sold to non UK residents)

Shipping glass framed prints overseas is expensive and the chance for breakages is too high.

All the prints that are on my walls at home are mounted by me.

Photobox are wonderful, they print all my stuff and I have used them for a few years now, the only time they were late (3 days hardly a problem) they refunded me and gave me a £5 voucher.

Great company.

PS: Just tried the framing thing as a test and they are expensive - a double mounted 8"x12" with a basic silver finish frame was over £50 - my local picture mounting shop charges at the most £10!

I guess it is convenient, but

Simon - had a quick look at the frames - I can't tell, but are the frames with mount or just frames ?
Is a16x12 frame the size of the frame, or the size of the mount...
I am sorry if my questions are dumb, but I would like to be able to frame some prints, but without knowing a little more, it is not easy to choose...
Thanks for any info - at the prices, it is almost worth buying some just to try them out..!
Guess what I want to know is what size print fits into what size frame..
Cheers
Steve

I have bought quite a few frames from wilko

they are actually decent quality. think the ones I bought were 8x6 ones, with a beveled effect and they cost less than £2 each.

there are absolutely loads to choose from in store.
