Anyone on here really into their fragrances?..I have always liked a decent bottle but just getting into it a little more lately.Had a bottle of creed aventus delivered the other day which is stunning and looking to get some green Irish tweed and Dior bois d'argent along with couple of Tom Fords and Amouage Reflection.I thought photography was expensive!!o_O

Lol, creed aventus is the best however batches do vary quite a bit, there is a spreadsheet knocking about somewhere (def linked to in a post over on avforums at some point in recent ish memory) that defines better batch codes.
Personally tried the green irish on the strength of how good aventus was but found it lacking in comparison, you may well find you get a collection then wishing it was just more aventus tbh. Ymmv of course, this btw from an avid "not botherer" about smelly stuff beyond the usual canned varieties for years, so to impress me aventus really is something special....

You collect a lot of stuff do't you.
Another thread recently was your passion for collecting knives which you said was expensive.

Yes I do is that a problem? Guess I have expensive taste!

With regards to aventus have heard that batches vary greatly but really impressed with the bottle I got.Think I will get a sample of Irish tweed but like yourself not convinced I'd prefer it over aventus. Looking forward to trying some of the Tom Ford fragrances

Also on the cheaper end of the spectrum I purchased a bottle of Mont Blanc individuel really good value for money!

Love Creed aventus and green Irish tweeed apart from I couldn't justify spending that much on it. Someone I know recommended somewhere to buy copies of them very cheap which I decided to try. A fair few people since have actually mentioned about me wearing Creed. Very tight I know....

Creed Green Irish Tweed or GIT for short is Prince Charle's favourite, aint it?

Never had any Creed myself, though I've often had a sniff of the testers. Very nice.

My current favourites are Hermes Terre, Bottega Vanetta and an '80s classic (for me at least) Dunhill Edition, which probably smells so good on account of all the memories of being 21 that it seems to trigger every time i spray it.

Garlic bread?
No thank you!

How about deep fried breaded garlic?

I wouldn't say I collect them, but I do enjoy a few scents. I'm a big fan of the Tom Ford Oud Wood, and Grey Vetiver. Terre D'Hermes is another that I like to keep a bottle of handy.
I've heard that there are some Oud fragrences that yoiu can get from the UAE online, which are very comparable to the Tom Ford range, but offer much better pricing.

When I first read the title of this thread, I kind of imagined it to be a new fangled air freshener, where Glade (other makes are available) was somehow fed through a fan or an air conditioning unit, thus wafting around the room, creating a fragrant ambience.

Anyhow, my personal preferences for gent's eau de toilette - aftershave - are, Paco Rabanne original, Gaulthier original blue and Mont Blanc.
I also have around 500ml of some stuff which I created myself (with the help of a perfumier) at Galimard in Grasse (just North of Cannes) on the Cote d'Azur, around fifteen years ago. It is lemon/citrussy with a hint of musk and is quite refreshing - unless you cut yourself shaving.

I am ordering some Tom Ford samples this week oud being one of them!

Received some tom ford samples recently oud wood and neroli portifino forte and just ordered 50ml decant of dior oud ispahan this is stunning! Also impressed with creed erolfa and silver mountain water.

I hate fragrances of any type, strong smells are one of the worst triggers for my cluster headaches.

The vile stuff lots of people put in their clothes wash these days is evil, so strong and can smell it yards away
Some women reek of cheap scent and some men stink of deodoriser presumably instead of showering (especially those who cycle to work and spray all over to mask the B O)

Sorry to hear it gives you headaches :(. Sounds like people near you are showering in the stuff.

I do like these although the neroli portifino reminds me of cleaning product ;) did you try the Armani prive collection so far?

:D lol funny enough thats the exact same thing I said when I sprayed the portifino!!Smells like floor cleaner until it dies down but not overly keen. Not tried any of the armani prive yet but will do soon.

All good, especially like their myhrre imperial

And smell of deodorant and toothpaste and when wearing a nice shirt a little aftershave......................YUP I am a weirdo alright. :naughty:

I dont however collect anything OR I am not a pseudo connoisseur of cigars, wine, whisky, saki, Italian cars or owt else! I have all the camera gear I need and use every piece of it for work.......

and I spray every fragrance I own for different occasions..lol. I dont claim to be a connoisseur either I just buy what I like.Horses for courses and all that.:)

Aye, have tried a few over the years.

Agree about the Portifino and the nicest Tom Ford one for me is Noir Extreme.

Non are a patch on Very Irresistible by Givenchy, which for some reason they stopped making for men, about 20 years ago!

This is my favourite at the moment although not the other halfs when she googled the price!..lol As its unisex I said I brought it for both of us.:naughty:
