Given that shooting is supposed to start in a few days I meant to post this sooner and yet here we are nearly in December!

Please post suggestions for FPOTY 2026 themes and I'll pick a selection in a week or so.

Feel free to pinch some of my DPOTY ones!

For this year's TP52 I generated a whole load of themes using an AI agent. Doing it that way is quite good as it removes my own bias to create a list of things I know I've shot.

If no one has any objection (given this is very much an analogue contest) I can do the same again and ask it to concentrate on themes applicable to film.

How many do you need (apologies I dip in and out so am not sure if it's weekly or monthly).

Hmm, sorry Kell but it's probably just me but I don't think AI has any place in the film arena. My suggestions are based on what I will shoot for the challenge, nothing to do with anything I might have already shot (which wouldn't be eligable anyway) and some are way off what I normally shoot on film.

Like I said it's probably just me, no offence intended, and anyway it's up to Chris in the end (@sirch).

You don't really need AI, a google search of photography challenge themes turns up many lists. I tend to think that its good to let those involved have an input and I to try to pick a good mix.

A grand day out, Comfortable, Centre, Painted with light, Dark, Former glory, On a miserable flat and wet day. A few from me, last one heart felt!

I would be tended towards macro type scenario rather than subject, to invite more elastic interpretations

wet
dry
cold
hot
rough
smooth
shiny
dull
sparkly
bright
dark
heavy
soft
hard
many
few
none
jagged
ragged
worn
new
old
frayed

ETC

And, more than likely, everyone's favorite subject could be accommodated in many categories, and encourage more people who may not like "the subject" to come up with something .

None taken.

I did caveat it with the huge chasm between AI and the analogue nature of film.

What’s good is that there are lots of suggestions already. Despite how many people initially start the 52, there was almost no one willing to put forward any themes.
