Edit My Images
Yes
I have a few landscape images up with Fotolibra, they have been there since the start of the year just as a very small sideline to my other income from togging. Made my first sale from the site this week but am a little puzzled over it. Been checking my account with them once a month and as of tonight there is no mention of this image being sold. But I received a cheque in the post last week with paper work relating to my image.

Now the questions I have are?

Is there anyway of tracking that image to make sure the buyer is honouring the license sold to them to use that image. They brought the image as a 1/4 front page website for one year @ £56

How come Fotolibra paid me when there payout lower limit is £50??

Why isn't the transaction showing in my account (Yes I have refreshed, cleared cookies and deleted temp internet files)??

Cheers in advance.

Got my question answered today by Fotolibra, even though I never mailed them direct a google alert made them aware of my question on here.

Here's there response.

Hi Matt

Google Alerts showed us your query on a photo forum.

To answer your questions (better to ask us than the general public!):

1. No. No picture library can do that for every purchase. But we know this particular purchaser and she is reliable. It's for an Exmoor web site and she bought over £1,000 worth of images from us for it. All our sold images have embedded metadata which routes back to fotoLibra and give the member's full copyright assertion.

2. We place the payment limit at £50 to avoid sending out hundreds of cheques for small amounts, but the accounts department will often clear accounts with over £20 in them in order to benefit photographers.

3. Unfortunately we have had difficulties implementing the code for the Account tab in the Seller Control Centre, and although in testing it always returned accurate data, in practice it was using an unacceptable percentage of processor time. So we've pulled the facility off the site until we can rewrite the code. We should have told members, and we will post a message to this effect on the Accounts Tab.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your interest in fotoLibra.

Kind regards,

fotoLibra Support Team

So I take my hat off to them for not only finding my question on here but also answering it honestly and promptly. Top people IMHO.

Nah, they'd have asked him into the diary room.
