Can someone give me a brief history of this excellent Forum.

It started, grew, and we have it as it is now.

From a Ford Mondeo forum, some members liked a bit of photography, so started this.

Hey hows that for brief ? lol

Others will come on and explain better than I.

We started under another name in 2004, four of us.
In April 2006, three of us were forced to 'rehome' the site, the database, etc, under a new brand and URL, and we came up with 'Talk Photography'. (Not one to blow my own trumpet but I think I came up with the name...lol)

We then grew, and grew and grew, and havent stopped since

We've moved through the years from a cheap hosting account, through to a shared hosting account, through a VDS (Virtual Server), right up to our very own server.
Eventually we may need more than one server, but for now...We're ticking along just nicely

So we've gone from 1 or 2 visitors a day back in early 05, in 2 years up to nearly 5000 members, not far off half a million posts.
We've had group buys from Hama, exclusive deals with Colab/One Vision imaging. We've got many industry professionals registered on the forum (and some from the photography, national, and international press too).
We've been mentioned as the best of the Guardians top 5 photography websites recently.

We still don't personally take a penny from it, or charge for anything, and we are still completely member driven All 3 owners regularly take an active part in joining in the forum too (Well, two of em rarely take pictures, but still....better than nothing )

That's just how we like it!

Hehe I was in bed actually...Early night for once, when I heard my wifes phone blinging a text message that she got earlier but hadnt answered...so I came down to shut it up....
