Assignment 4 is Water

Interpret the theme however you like.
Water is everywhere, there's really no getting away from it, so no excuse not to partake in the challenge!

Come on TPF peeps lets go play with water .....

Looks like we're off to a cracking start here peeps

Just to re-iterate for the newer peeps amongst us, dont forget ....

If you're submitting a photo, then please comment on 2 other photos...one of which should be the one preceding your post (Hope that makes sense).....Unless you're the first person posting a photo of course.

Marcel.

Ta!

Phew cheers for the recap on the rules.. good job i was first. I'm gonna critique my own photo in a very odd move especially for myself. I chose this less white/ bright version but now am having second thoughts. And that's why it sits in my play around folder. I have two other versions that i feel have more correct whites etc but hey ho. It's water.

In all seriousness does that mean as the second "poster " do I retro-spectively make a comment?
Sorry 'bout the "bottle" comment but couldn't think of anything to say at the time

I thought it was a good comment! Ha.... Your photo is growing on me each time I look at it by the way, that´s a good thing mate! And Tomh, I might give that a try soon!

Took these a while back with a basic Fuji digital but they fit the bill so here goes..

Those are good B/W's, I like the second one best it makes you wonder what's round the bend.
And Cobra, I think rain does count, that photo brings back memories of many a soggy trek!

I don't have a back log of pic's to draw on so I just nipped into the garden and took this of my pond waterfall.
It's a good job I have one or I would have been stumped, the Water Board have switched us off because of a massive leak!!

Well seeing as waterfalls are the thing today, here's one from me...

Susane, I actually really like yours, although I reckon a lower viewpoint would make it even better. I get the impression that you've got a really interesting garden :)

DB247, I really like the composition of you're first one, makes it a very interesting shot IMO. The highlights look a bit too overblown in the second one though

Susane,
You could have nipped out and taken a quick shot of the Water Board chaps sitting around drinking Tea while they wait for the Electricity board to turn up so they can dig a nice big hole......

Like the Picture, but was wonderiung whether you could have twaked it a bit to bring some more of the colours out in the rocks.

Grendel,
Love that one, The 'structure's perfectly placed as a focal point framed by the water flowing round it.

db247 - Really like the first one - Don't normally get much out of odd angles, but that and the mono really work well with the millpond flat water.

Grendel, I like that, the length of exposure seems to be spot on. db247 I like the different approach to the subject.
Well there's some water in there, somewhere:)

That would have been an idea! except the water shutoff covers about 3 miles square around my home, major pipe burst!! no idea where the leak is.
Thanks for your input on my pic, maybe my monitors set up different to yours, it looks vibrant enough on mine and I didn't want to overcook it :)

Susane,
I think it was the monitor, now I'm home from work it looks much better.
El cheapo graphics card and nasty office laptop don't make for attractive colours - Ill have to remember that when I'm processing (at lunchtime obviously).

Now I've got my albums to hand, couldn't resist this one as a cheeky alternative take on water :D

I'll get out and take a 'proper' assignment one tomorrow....

Think you picked a good one there Glo, well done, and thank you.

Some good pic's so far here. Particularly like susane's pond waterfall - really bright colours, namllihs' seal chilling! and yoby's soaking dog - love expression on dog's face. Good topic for assignment IMO too.

:)

Yoby that is a great pic (shoulda moved the person in the back though!)

I love Yoby's unimpressed wet dog. Why do they hate water so much.

And have to keep going back and looking at Grendels Waterfall. Very relaxing.

This one off my old camera so its a bit of a point and shoot kind of photo. The water is being flicked up to heal a leg wound just in case you wondered what was going on.

The two dog's are great, Andrea- that looks painful and the dog almost looks to be saying what do you think you are doing:)
Yoby- that just looks cute, he looks like he is about to shake himself dry all over the bathroom.

Nice shot of the canal boats at Skipton by the looks of it Sue. Nice compostition and lovely colours..:)

its actualy bingley, at the top of five locks, went to try and get shot of them, but didnt have time to walk down and back up again as had hair appointment round the corner.
might have been nice to get all of the shodow/reflection in your shot.

Hi all. My first post here.

Busterboy, cute picture of the duck. I can't help but think cloning out a few of the distractions in the water would bring the focus back onto the duck.

Sue, nice scene with the canal boats. I do feel the background is a little distracting though, maybe a slightly tighter crop could help.

Not sure i'm 100% happy about this one but here it is non the less
