Formatt Hitech Filters and Filter Holder

I have a Pro Stop 10 Stop filter for Hitech (Formatt) and their 85mm filter holder.

There is a foam pad round the filter to help seal it but the filter hold is too big and so I get light seeping in.

Am I doing something wrong?

My understanding is there are two different filters from formatt. One for their own hitech holders which has 3mm thick foam and another for lee holders which has 1.5mm of foam. Sounds like you have a hitech holder but a lee-fit filter.

Looks like 85mm filter in 100mm holder

Yep, youve got the 85mm pro stop and a 100mm filter holder. You need the 100x100 pro stop

The gaps looks very similar to my filters, mine are in a Lee holder though so that may make a difference.

Well this is the exact item I bought Amazon.

The 85mm Filter fits in it perfectly so I can't see that it is a 100mm holder.

Doesnt the adaptor ring complete the seal?

No there is a gap that lets light in, so I end up with a reflection of the lens in the shot.
