I know theres a fair few petrolheads on here so is anyone going to ford fair at silverstone in August?
We're showing our car for the first time (only bought it in May) although its still a work in progress. Would be nice to see some of you. If anyone is going say hello to me at the Welshford stand, i'll be with the white mk3 escort :D

Oh, and of course you're more than welcome to take flattering piccies of her, but if you do pretty pretty please forward me a copy???? :whistling:
 
Not planning on going this year, but what model Escort is it?
 
its a mk3 1985 1.1 base model. Only 1 of 9 base models left on the road

i'll keep an eye out for it, but with 3500 cars on show it might be tricky lol, which stand will you be on?

Thats my biggest worry at shows like these. I'm scared of a kid pouring their drink it or shoving a smarty in there! :lol:

Bonnets only open when I'm with the car :D

As the other year, my friends all took chalk pens. Writing all over the car and someone wrote on it, £1 - Write anything you like. I overheard one yob mumble - "yea I'll write on it, with my keys" So unfortunately I don't really trust everyone that comes to these events.

think we'll be making an agreement with the other club members that theres always someone on the stand to watch over the cars.

Does it spoil the custom effect to have bath plugs in the trumpets? Or tea strainers? Or tank tape? ;)
 
OH has just shown me that lol. we're area 20, dont know if thats good or not as havent been before. Where on the map is the entrance the visitors will be coming through?
 
I've usually been directed from the back and into the area from the top RHS but I doubt you will come in that way, you'll come in over the bridge more than likely.

I THINK you maybe on a grass area.

I'm on a proper crap spot, ZSOC was on there a few years ago and its all gravel with rocks and stuff on a hill. Few people got punctures that year.

I'm out on track too :cuckoo:

ive been told we're by the entrance and that its not a bad spot. No idea where we'll be coming in from, we're camping the night before so will just follow the others in lol
 
im going borrowing mydad cam with massive lens (yay) for some track action picks. harvey gibbs still got his escort ? i heard it was up for sale
 
Good show! I didn't wander too much again this year. Was tired from the night before and spent the afternoon on track!
 
was brilliant despite the lack of sleep (muppets at the campsite playing music and revving engines til 3am) and the sunburn on my face! will definately be going again, i missed the zsoc stand, you were sort of out of the way a bit werent you? got round a fair bit though, OH wants a sierra next when we take the escort off the road for a restore. I'd love a p100 pickup like the purple one that was there but need 3 or more seats and they were only 2 seaters :(
Our club had a pic in the show programme (yellow fez on page 17)
 
Yea our stand was shocking, full of nails again, big rocks and loose gravel. Everyones cars covered in dust and we didn't have enough space. But surprisingly Ford Fair gave us stand of the show! :lol:

I really want a Mk2 escort now :(
 
I got some track action shots just got to sort them but got a 2 week ol baby so will be the weekend probably when there on here
