Last time I used them (develop and print, no scan) it took 6 working days from posting film to the box of photos hitting the doormat.

Quickest I've had is 5 days and longest is 10.

And they're quality - always use Ilford for b/w now.

For colour, given that I really want it to look like it was taken in 1970 and rushed through Prontaprint, I use Jessops and get a free cheapo film to play with as well.

Arhhh Pre-Visulisation is the key to film photography, see, think, look again, re-compose, think shoot.

Hey Jemdna last time I used Ilford 3200 I rated it at 1600 and then developend it as if I had taken it at 3200, so no time changes for push or pull development.

I got great tones and nice grainy images, if I remeber I'll post a couple up when I get home tonight.

No. I didn't pre-visualise the coke bottle in the background:shake:

Hey everyone :)

Well checked out the venue last night for the next shoot, quite a strange building but I really like the "Feel" of the place... :D

What I did notice, is usually I would take a quick nose about and be done with it knowing that my digi' life could fix so many issues in PP with no effort... This time though I really took my time, looked about properly, checked out lighting, planned stuff... Now I know I should probably have done this with digitial anyway but still ;)

Ahh, the old "6 P's"*

edit: and watch out for coke bottles - they tend to cause colour popped grafitti

* Perfect Preparation Prevents P*** Poor Photographs

It would PP out in a few seconds though :)

I want to try toning and lith printing these so PP isn't an option. Going to have to re-shoot it.

Well another roll of film has gone through the Yashica and im now starting to get a feel for how it all comes together :)

I'll post results tommorow!

Bry

A day late maybe but here is a few pictures taken with the Yashica! I feel Im starting to get to grips with the camera and the film...

Well, you got a certain "gritty" there, whether it's the film, the exposure or the processing. #3 has some nice detail, seems to be a double exposure on #1 - ther'e's a mini wheel leaning up against the bike :D

Bike... with a 3.5 Litre V8...and an extra wheel ;) Cheers for the feedback Arthur :)

Anyone else like the pics :)

lol rob :)

The bosses transport based around...

Rover 3.5 V.8 with a Honda Goldwing front end and the rear compromises of a Jaguar Axle with Rolls Royce wheels.

The framework/mounts etc were made up by the boss...

What else is there to say except... ***** its fast... rediculously fast infact

Excellent - I guessed it'd be a Rover V8 - the yank motors have different displacements...

Thinking about a crate 5.0l for my Mustang - Ford's new 32v jobbie puts out 450bhp in stock configuration - easily get 600bhp with a modest blower on it... target price for the engine is only $6k-ish delivered to Germany...

I had one of those - excellent cars...
Marriage forced the sale of that and my ST24...

Now divorced and with someone who understand my needs more fully...lol

TBH the 'Moose' is a stone-age POS, mechanically-speaking... The guys at the local Ford dealer here in Iserlohn were speechless when they saw how it was assembled. The fact that I did an entire suspension swap in under 8 hours tells you how simple it is...

But it sounds awesome and looks the business... even Audi R8 drivers gaze in admiration (one lives next-door)...

Audi R8... boring cars all modern modern cars are boring, they have no personality. I would much rather a loony mustang with handling specially designed to kill people with suspension like a boat over a perfectly formed R8 anyday...

Also Rob... would you say something like this would be a better edit...

Bit too much contrast now...think grade 3... Much easier if you use Multigrade paper, then you can swap the filters over and do some selective contrast work...

I think the trike benefits from being high-contrast, while the background should be softer - maybe with some vignetting to draw the viewer's attention in...

And yes - modern cars are dull... I was looning around with another driver in a Beemer 335d coupe the other day and while he had me in the corners, I had him on the straights...but I also had more fun...he just pressed the 'Sport' button and that was his entire contribution of driver-input...

Me thinks I'll have another play later with the contrast :) Off for a couple of hours now thought, 2 to 3 hours of ink on the chest shall soon sort me out :p

Bry

Not sure if many people are interested on here but heres a quick picture of my latest ink (2 hours... many many more to go )

That would be nice and not particularly expensive either!

That would be nice and not particularly expensive either!

It's a popular misconception that these things are expensive - if you buy from the USA and don't go through (sometimes) dodgy importers, you can save a bundle.
My 2008 GT 'Bullitt' cost me about £19,000 shipped, converted to UK specs and SVA'd... Spent an additional $3,800 (yes $$$ not £££) on racing suspension parts and fitted them myself. That work would have cost me nearly £10,000 at a dealer..."oooh it's the parts - we have to import them ourselves, you see...?"
The same car from a UK importer with at least 2,000 miles on the clock was about £32,000 back in 2008...
A Vortech supercharger costs about $4,800 in the US. Costs about $500 to ship it to Europe. You can fit it yourself in a couple of weekends, working slowly with lots of tea breaks and a mate to help...
To get that fitted in the UK will cost about £12,000...

I'll do that: I'll buy a pack of 10x12 Ilford Galerie bromide paper and see what we can come up with...

you can usually get a ~22MP phase one / hassleblad/mamiya 645 setup on ebay/teamwork photo for under £5k... :naughty:

Out of both curiosity and the possibility I may be able to help gear wise, where are you in Suffolk and when/where is the shoot?

Hey there B1ts :)

In a small village only 15 miniute drive from a place called "Mildenhall" (Reason im referencing a place 15 mins away is because I've JUST woke up and really can't think of the actual shoot location )

Bry

Hey yeah - we can all turn up with a full armoury
