Yes
I am considering buying one of these mainly for motor racing onboard shoots.

For those who own one, are you happy with the photos it takes?

Would you suggest somebody else to buy it?

I can see lot of very different reviews online, those who say that is great, those who say it isn't.

If you could also post a photo taken from it with a 100% I'll be loving you long time :D

From my experience of seeing what friends have taken with theres (i do not own one personally) they seem great for stills not so brilliant for video.

Not used them for photos particularly, but been very pleased with the video on our GoPro 3 Black Edition.

Both on suction mounts, GoPro 3 Black in-car set to Medium angle, GoPro 2 outside on wide angle:

GoPro 3 Black on a clamp mount to the harness bar, set to narrow angle:

It says in the manual it has a RAW functionality via Protune. Silly question really... but is anyone using it for stills?

I had a GOPRO for my RC helis and planes, both vids and pics are top quality.
But on a dull over cast day not so good, they use these in many tv programs, 5th gear, top gear and plenty of documentary channels and if you know what to look for you can clearly see them.
Buy 1 from eBay and if you don't like it, or it don't live up to standards sell on with no lost of money.
Bought my GOPRO V2 for £150 off a forum and sold when I had done with it for £165 a yr later.

I have a hero3 black edition and took it to the arctic recently, taking time lapse 30 second photos 1080 format onto a 64gb SDXC.

I bought the black edition, it includes the remote control (there's also an iphone app).

If you are going to use it for any length of time, you will need a bacpac battery, even that will only last a couple of hours without USB intervention. I used the skeleton case and ran a usb power lead to the bacpac battery that kept it topped up all day. (Skeleton case had holes in the side). there's also a ribbon/case/holder - on balance i figured the bacpac was better value and gives the same access to the power. when you charge the bacpac it also charges the main battery.

I also managed to find a company who sell additional batteries and car chargers so that I can mount the unit outside my vehicle.

Overall: the camera is excellent and for what it is, the quality is good but you will need to buy accessories for it even if you buy the black edition, it uses loads of power compared to the previous model. I would still recommend one.

I've got a older HD Pro for work use and there is no doubt it is good. However, the HD2 and HD3 now support wifi remote control (HD2 with adapter and HD3 native). this also send images back which immediately save on the need for an LCD (which I don't have but would be useful).

If you can afford the HD3 Black then definitely get that on, but don't get anything less than the HD2 version and add the cost of the wifi back to the purchase.

As an aside I used the HD Pro to film this -

fast forward through the guy speaking to get to the "interesting" bit.

i have the HD2, HD video is superb but im not that impressed with stills, not too bad for non moving photos but for sport etc not the best in my opinion, no where near DSLR quality

just to be clear, the HD3 black edition comes with a wifi remote, like DrRusty says there's also an apple app that works as a LCD screen (but all this zaps the power of the phone and camera)

the HD3 does have wifi built in

I have two of these bad boys. They are fantastic. great underwater, superb out of water. video is superb and stills are impressive too.

Here's a still whilst playing in the water. This is SOOC so zero editing.
