Just thought this might be of interest to all those contemplating the profession but lack confidence in their abilities.

Not meaning to knock anyone but just saw this guy on Sky 277 repeated at 6pm on 278 first 5 mins.

I was always told to pay attention to detail, check the galleries . eg cables under table, scar on brides arm would you present these in your shop window?
 
i like some of his stuff, only concerns would be the heavy levels of noise in some images and the limited range, all 3 galleries seem to be from the same couple of weddings but i've certainly seen much worse, think most brides would probably be happy with his stuff
 
Looks pretty good to me. Maybe I would have been tempted to clone the girl's scar out, but then perhaps he didn't want to cause offence, particulary if she was a personal friend.
 
Theres some really nice photos on the website. I agree with the attention to detail needs to be a little higher. Having you tripod turn up in a photo is no exactly great.
 
How do you know it was the *photogs 'pod? :thinking:

Hello guys,
A fellow photographer of mine who came across this thread, contacted me in regards to this post and me as the guy you are all talking about, decided that perhaps it was time to put somethings straight.
First the tripod; if you are talking about the image where the couple is kneeled down on the church, the tripod is not mine, is from the videographer and i decided to leave it there because to me, it does not detract from the image itself.
High noise i agree, some of them are quite noise, i do not tend to use flash and in particular, the church images where i have to cranck the ISO high, i for one do mind, actually i quite like the grainny effect, therefore i do not mind the images as it is.
Number of images, yes i agree with Rally-Media, i should trimm down the number of images and will do so in the next few weeks.
The girls scar? I left it on purpose, the bride did not mind having the scar on the images and i for one, will not take it out, since this is not fashion but wedding photography and therefore a scar should not be taken out, unless it is asked by the bride or i decide that it detracts from what i tend to achieve.
As for Slipper-One, well, i saw his images and would like to thank him for making sure, i work even harder then i am, so that i achieve what i want in life and in photography.
It is the criticism and comments such as yours that make me, be even better.

Some good photos although my taste is for the more traditional,a bit cheeky though in your FAQ's to insist on a meal provided,I always take sandwiches unless it is a close friend and I am a guest as well as a photographer.

Really good of you to come on here and give your response. Personally I like a lot of your stuff, it come across as very natural. As for the tripod, I had to look through the galleries twice before I spotted it, so it definitely does not detract for me. :clap:

Hope you stay around and swap notes with the many wedding togs we have here. I'm pretty sure everyone will benefit, including yourself.

I've never been to a wedding, including my own, where the photographer wasn't offered a feed. The guy/gal is spending the day there, it would be a bit mean for the guests to stuff their faces whilst excluding the tog.
 
Just regarding food at weddings...
I was offered food very rarely and often did not feel comfortable sitting down with complete strangers...

One of the biggest complaints with Nuno's website is that the photos on the gallery change too quickly!

As for the noise...well the guy does shoot with a noink! :D

I always get offered food but decline as it's a good time to get candids of people enjoying themselves. A couple of weeks back the groom's mum tried to get me to sit at the head table and eat with them - she was worried I hadn't had anything bless her.

I usually have a few snacks with me or if it's a buffet I'll grab a quick sarnie if there's a chance. Other than that plenty of water and a big chinese takeaway when I get home :thumbs:

Have to admit that, when I shoot a polo tournament, I usually don't eat anything, just drink water (Too much nervous energy?). Unless the missus is with me, then I get a sarnie stuffed down me gob! :D
