Just received my copy of Photoshop CS3 for Dummies from Amazon so here's hoping I start to get the hang of it all soon:D

Brilliant (but expensive £30) is Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Photographers by Martin Evening. Good one to move onto after your current book. Good luck!

I find Scott Kelby's books very readable and also very focused on doing things that a photographer would actually want to do, rather than just using the software - if you see what I mean.

Borrowing that one from the library, TBH the reason for buying this one was partly due to Mrs G asking me if there was anything I needed from Amazon so she could have free delivery on a book she wanted:) For £10.39 it looks well illustrated and sectioned, but, the proof of the pudding.........:)

Which books do you recommend?

I've just ordered that one by Scott Kelby Galaxy mentioned, but £14.99 from amazon.co.uk
here i also have "The photoshop CS3 Book For Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby another one i would highly recommend, particularly if like me your not technically minded(don't mean that offensively)as it's just so easy to understand.

I'm a bit cheap old fashioned and still making do with Photoshop Elements 2...so I use "The Photoshop Elements Book for Digital Photographers", which is quite old now.

Wandered in to WH Smith after being taken to the cleaners by The Highway Robbery Team aka The Dentist and found a book called 'Photoshop for Photographers'.

It's published by Future and costs £12.99 and has over 220 pages of techniques covering such things as 'Recover blown-out highlight detail', 'Remove blemishes and other unwanted objects', 'Add dramatic skies' etc etc.

There tons and tons of step by step techniques. A lot of them are taken from the magazine but there's a cd included so you can follow the techniques with the image provided.

I'm pleased with my purchase!
