football tonight

HI folks, got tickets for the Celtic V Hearts match tonight, never been to a stadium before, I know it says NO photography but every match i see on the tv the point and shoots are always in clear view what I would like to know should i take my D700 or just a little point and shoot I dont have any big Lenses other than the 105.

Im under the impression that cameras with removable lenses are not allowed
at events etc as they are considered 'pro' equipment.

Moble phone & point & shoot cameras are ok as you are less likely to get a
decent pic from the terraces.

The chances are you won't get your D700 in to the ground and even if you do a steward will take it off you as soon as they see you using it. I'd go with the point and shoot and you should be fine.

I don't think they'll mind. Besides, a colleague here says Celtic have only been averaging around 35000 for each home game this season, so you should be able to find a quiet spot to shoot.

I took my gear to St James' Park and also shot in Old Trafford without anyone batting an eyelid. Worth a try. Take both?

I didnt know you couldnt take DSLRs and took my D60 with a 70-200 lens ( not very big even together) in my Nikon bag to Tottenham and took loads of pics and no-one said anything.
