Football press pass?

Cheeky git! Just you wait :p

Boys?! :p

Agree re insurance, I've not been "hit" by players but have often had to stick a hand up to stop a ball, its not worth the risk

Conference level and about need atleast £2mil PL cover aswell

Got some camera insurance from Aaduki, 'semi-pro' which means if I earn any dosh I am still covered, I think £150 excess which is reasonable given the value of the equipment. Not had a reason to make a claim so far! 'My' club cover me on their PI, but it does mean I'm not covered elsewhere.

Have a look at your local club(s) website(s) to check out the standard of photography. If its pretty good, their photographer may be OK with having 'an extra' there, if its pretty poor they might be happy to have someone willing to give it a go.

I've had a look at E and L insurance, they look pretty reasonable.

I think I'll have to put my old avatar back then........

Seriously don't go anywhere near Equine and Livestock E&L, they have a deserved reputation for not paying out when things go wrong. They have a "no claims department". I suggest you do a search .............

I use Aaduki - who have a good reputation. Photoguard also seem to have a decent reputation.

I'll stay clear then, just had a quick look at Photoguard. May consider them :)

I think it would be rather interesting however I'm not too sure if I would like to do it as a career as of yet. Also, I don't have the right equipment yet and my only lens is a 18-55mm kit lens. What I think I'll do is contact a few Sunday league teams and see if I enjoy it or not, that will also be good because I won't be expected to have the best of the best gear.

You'll definitely need something longer than 55mm even for sunday league - if I were you i'd get something like a 55-250IS or even a cheap 70-300 second hand (have a look at mpb) - you'll need better glass than that for propper sports toggery but it'll do for dipping you toe in the water

The good news is that your camera is easily up to it - Ive used my 20D for no end of sports related stuff.

And insurance wise if you arent doing it proffesionally i'd bet you will be covered by your parents house insurance - mine covers me for up to £5k of personal possesions away from the house (though that said for a £200 camera and and a couple of cheap lenses it might not be worth claiming as the value might be less than the excess)
