If I could wave a magic wand so that all makes of camera had the same lens fitting, what lenses from other makes of camera would you like to have in your camera bag?
You can ignore cost because in this wonderland they would all be affordable

A friend told me they are working on "liquid lenses" which will do all apertures or focal lengths in one go. Or a hell of a lot more than current lenses.

I will go google it, cant say I have heard about this before.

Gary.

not really looked at other manufacturers lenses, since i cant use them. but i would assume a few nikonians would like the mpe65 as nikon dont have anything like it in there lineup.

as a canon user, i think you can get adaptors to make the nikon lenses fit, so i think the option is there already for canon users

Just googled it and there is!!! All it needs now is the same for Olympus and other lenses - and of course the pennies to buy them!

i think they are available as canon has the shortest distance to the mirror from the mount ring, so you just apply the relevant ring to "space" the lens to the right depth. as for auto focus and is etc, dont know whether all that will still work

Zeiss 50mm f/0.7 (yup, f/0.7). In NAF, please. Might need some adaptation to allow thw mirror to clear the rear element though...

The Tokina f2.8 60-120mm was a rare find, as was the Koni Rapid Omega 135mm Hexanon medium format lens, but they fit bodies I have.

Ye Gads, the Canon 24mm tilt/shift would subsitute somewhat for my Pentax on a crop body.

I thought the Flange to focal plane distance on a canon was 44mm.

The four thirds camers have a flange to focal plane distance of 38.67. Thats why so many four thirds users can use lenses from other manufacturers. Infact the hexanon lenses are newarly a direct fit and work superbly.
