Well the crow bar is I PRODUCED my first pano

I struggle with panos on screen... you can't really see any detail, and they just don't seem pixel-friendly to me. As mentioned, it's a great looking view, but for me lacks any real impact possibly down to the lack of foreground. I just cast my eye left to right, then move onto something else. Next please. :D

Nice candid shots, and I think you can get away without too many crowbar-related comments for produce

It could probably do with a slight tweak to the contrast to give it a little more punch, but that's my personal preference. Really good for a fist pano though!

Nice pano shot and great views you have there! As compared to the uneven housing and private 200 sq meter wooded areas we have here :D

Only thing bottering me is that it feels very tigt in the foreground, I would have liked just a bit more of the plane in the bottom.

As for it being a crowbar entry, I don't know? We're supposed to be creative with the theme, so this is creative and related to produce, so seems like it fits the theme perfectly.

I had a look at your candid entries as well (still playing catchup). All very nice to look at. And the first indeed feels like the most candid to me, but I prefer the second. The first has a bit too much space on top for my liking. But that is just a pet dislike, big buildings and people ;)

So, off to look at some more posts before my work starts again...

stunning scenery, a bit more foreground would have been good for me but never the less its a wonderful scene.. love the brooding sky.. hope you had a good trip!

What a lovely view. Just kinda lacks something in the foreground but that could have been your intent as my eye is drawn along the stretch of water.

As was said above Scott, you have produced this pano and its a creative take on the theme so only very mild crowbar application.
It is a fine view, well put together. My only niggle would be the bottom of the image where the water has been cropped, it appears to run out the bottom;)

Hmmm. my first double post

How I'd love to live somewhere even remotely near a place like this !!

It's a lovely image and well done you on producing it.

Thanks Rob!

Lots of crowbars being passed around this week but the shot is so fabulous that crowbar or not it well worth it.

Lovely menacing clouds and rolling hills, makes me want to go back there...

Cheers :)

Got to agree with RobC, I'd love to be within spitting distance of somewhere as beautiful as that. Nice shot Scott.

Thank you

Given my MASSIVE crowbar effort this week, I can't possibly comment on you fitting this one in

This is a beautiful shot though.
I don't know much about landscape photography, but that is some breathtaking scenery and if you've merged a few shots into that panorama you've done an absolutely seamless job

Thanks Sarah, I went on the Lakes camping weekend to learn landscape photography with a great bunch of members and a very talented teacher ;). I wouldn't say I came away with a lot of shots but I will take a lot of confidence the next time I go out. As a pano it was a spur of the moment idea as we were waiting for some good light and stitched in PSE 6.

Ahh, so you produced something as well

Lovely pano - nice to see you managed to get out of the pub for long enough to get some great pics ;)

We only had a few in the pub, but at least I managed to eat my Cow Pie not like all you lite weights .

Thanks for the details comments Vicky, I'm very new to landscape stuff but starting to see why people love it.

well done for producing something new. Lovely view

Thank you! it was worth the climb.

It was a great trip Michelle and with DD as a great tutor as he is very passionate about landscape stuff.

Nice Pano Scott, think the clouds make it and I'm sure a B&W conversion would bring them out even more.

Well done

Scott, that Pano is produced really nicely, no sign of the stitch marks :D... it's on theme too, what an amazing view and you've captured it very nicely

Just been looking at your crowbar ..... ooops, err, I mean, Produce shot. :D

I love the sky, and the colours on the hills, and, being greedy, would like a little more foreground - although I see I'm not alone in that. It looks like a fabulous location so you're definitely forgiven for the minor use of the crowbar.

Thanks Jean, I will remember the foreground next time :D

I haven't had chance to think about a reshoot and QUADruped is a bit of a cheat but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Just been to the first studio workshop from Gary Edwards Saturday so hopefully one of the next themes will allow me to post something from my first time in a studio.

QUADruped, my brother-in-laws new pup :D

Still playing catch up, had a stinking cold all week from my bloody daughter :bang: but I've got a week off work now

That is a fantastic image Scott, great expression and eye contact from the wee fella! The dof and composition are spot on too. Cant fault that in any way, well done! Iain

Aww, cute :D
(I hate dogs though )

That was quick you dog hater ........:D

Thanks Iain he is a cute little b****r.
Awww, a cute dog and a well taken shot.

Cheers!

lovely shot - the bowl looks bigger than he does !

It won't be for long

Love it, crisp clear and bold. Is it a Rottie by any chance?

Aww - he's lovely. A great shot with perfect lighting. Ideally I think I would like it without the ?table leg in the left background.

Brilliant shot for quad. Very well captured and shot well. The only downside is the chair leg on the left handside but thats being picky

OMGG How cute is he /she !!??

Ok, now I've got that outta the way.....

Stonking stuff. Wonderful subject matter, great eye contact, awesome expression, pin sharp with great DOF.

Lovely! My dog was this size once but now he's a 40kg beast that leaves more hair and slobber around the house than should be possible and I'm sure this little cutie will do to. (Feel free to insert 'great brute' into the sentense in about 1 years time )

Thanks Briony, he is a Rotty

Thanks, I was using my Sigma 70-200 2.8 for a narrow DOF but doesn't quite get rid of all the background

haha he's well cute, i love the way his snout is pressed up against the bowl, well captured.

Cheers mate!

They already have a 10 month old bitch and have decided to breed, he is 6 weeks old and they had just picked him up.

What a fantastic photo. It is so cute. Quadruped is not a cheat at all.

Well done. :clap::clap::clap:

Jenny

Thanks Jenny he was running riot in his new home and I spend about an hour on my belly trying to capture him.

After attending my first studio workshop with Gary Edwards I came away with a greater understanding of studio work. Here is this weeks SHOOT.

Technically great, but I don't understand it. What were your thoughts behind the shoot, is there even a meaning behind the image?

amazing shoot shot and very cute puppy shot

Thank Nattelie

Technically great, but I don't understand it. What were your thoughts behind the shoot, is there even a meaning behind the image?

The thought behind the shot is very simple, when you are taking shots of a naked women it is hard for them not to look vunerable. By placing a weapon in her hand it gives her power...... simples ;)

Like the Quad shot Scott. Lovely use of DOF.

Never really done any portraiture so can't really comment on the technicalities of Shoot. But it's a pleasing image.

that pup is simply adorable! :)

shoot.. certainly fits the theme.. get your thoughts on it, works well.. just not sure it does a whole lot for me?

Ah thanks for the explanation, it works though so well done!

He is a cutie. I knew the shoot shot would be a risky one as in peoples taste.

Cheers :)

Nice GUN......

Allan

:nono: ..........it's art nude not playboy ;)

Love the puppy shot but I am afraid that this weeks "shoot" does nothing for me - sorry. Know nothing about studio shooting so would not know if it is good or bad, so cannot comment.

Good shot for this week, I presonally would have preferred it if the right hand side was just a little lighter
