Great effort for Speed!
And... Barry Sheen is dead is he?2003 - I guess I don't keep up with current events much...
Anyway, As was said earlier, I also think this looks like the cover thingy on iTunes. I love the set up, I think the lighting is spot on, and the composition is excellent.
And it's a brilliant take on the theme.
Where's Keanu?
Ian.
Yes I like the shot a lot it tells a story.

Love Speed, Barry Sheene was my idol number 7 he was so gorgeous![]()
Scott - love the Street picture.... not sure about speed but thats the joy of this challenge - every one has their own take on it.

Aha... now the user name makes sense.... (call me slow to catch on...)
A very interesting take on the theme Scott. I like it, particularly the reflections.
love the reflections.
Good 52 shots, particularly chopped! The model's done a good job of looking a bit psychotic!
Like the idea for street and the colours in poetry
Loving the Speed twist. Not something I would have ever thought of. Great reflections![]()
Great product shot to fit straight into the pages of a Waterstones catalogue. Love the lighting and reflection.
Like your speed attempt - it's original, and that counts a lot in these things! If anything I'd reduce the amount of reflection - have it fade to black, but that's me being really picky
Nicely done![]()

Doh! It's a good job you pointed it out, John - I hadn't 'got' the significance either. Thick - or what! :bonk:
I like the cover flow effect and the 'full' reflections are just right for this shot. Excellent take on the theme.

Another "no" to a reshoot!
I love this just as it is. The bit of flare from the flash really adds to it. The composition is spot on - the symmetry works brilliantly. It's a crisp and clear shot and the full length reflections are perfectly suited to it.
Have I mentioned that I like this yet?![]()
A bigfor this one Scott.Fantastic use of light and reflections....Mick
Really simple and well executed shot, goes to show you dont have to pull an extreme shot out for it to be nice and original, the reflection sets it off well.
Dan
Simple works here Scott. I think the lighting is excellent and don't really know about how you'd get the effect you are after.
It's a well thought out collage of items that hit the theme well. Nicely done.
Ian.
It's a nice composition. For my taste it's a bit too shadowy, particularly under the rose petals and perhaps a tiny tweak on the WB
Actually, for me the lighting appears spot on - maybe a little lighter on the rose and card but overall the feel is top notch![]()

Love the colours in the lamp and I like the lighting
I like take 2... and I think the colour balance now sits well with the improved lighting![]()
very nice.. someone is in for a nice surprise tomorrow
I think I prefer the lighting on your first one, like that lampshade, very pretty..
I like the darker version but that just shows you cant please everyone. Some nice presents there and a well balanced shot.
Agree with Sue. The darker image is far more atmospheric/romantic. I don't mind the shadows at all. Nicely done.
I agree. A little brush adjustment in Lightroom on the rose, but otherwise really nice shot.
Prefer the first one Scott - a little more intimate for the subject.
I think I prefer the first too, I agree with the 'intimate' feeling! Nice shot, and well arranged!![]()
This is wonderful. #2 for me, the lighting is beautiful.
It works very well for the theme, I think the second pips it. Nicely done.
Take 2 for me
I like to see more detail, and thank goodness this theme fell right for Valentine's day
She' a very lucky woman as I got nowt![]()

i really like the darkness of the firstand i love the colours of the light

Darker version for me too. Its a tricky one I suspect peoples preferences will depend on the monitor that theyre using, but I find that youve lost a bit of the colour from the rose in the lightened image.
This really works well for the theme. Nicely composed there are a lot of elements in it, but Im not finding that theyre struggling for attention at all. In fact they complement one another perfectly.
I like this a lot![]()
Number #1 would be my preferred choice, though I would have been tempted to make the lighting even more directional and limit it to just the watch in the box.
I prefer no1 Scott, I think there's more mood to the lighting,a nice composition, maybe the roses positioned slightly more under the light. A good take....Mick
