great idea, I really like this Scott, if I had to choose it would be no 2.

great idea of the different view's for Steet, if i had to pick one, i'd say 1, but there isn't much in it really

That's a good .. I prefer the second one, in the first the outside pictures seem to be shutting out the snowy picture.

I like the first one better, Scott. :)

Thank you I guess I'm 60/40 for the first

Cool idea for 'street'! I'm in the 'number one' camp though, to me it makes the symmetry a little bit more obvious

Chris

Thanks Chris

A great idea and it has come out really well. I much prefer no.1, though.

Another vote for No.1 :D

Ooooh number 2 camp for you sir, cherrs

Thats 3 for 2 . Cheers.

Cool idea, took me a while to figure what was niggling... it's the bay window one side and the house wall the other - messes up the front garden wall line! Very nice pic though and a neat slant on panoramic - never seen a tryptich pano before!

Arthur

Love the street theme... for me it's the first one, i think the angles work better :)

Thank Arthur, I'm trying to do something new for me on each theme.

#2 for me I think. Innovative take on the theme and well processed :clap:

Thank you, the processing was a first so there was a little :bang:

Safe for me to come back now.

Number 1 for me, although when I first looked at it it messed with my head somewhat :) In fact after several looks it still does. Shame they're not all taken in the snow, but that's my only niggle.

Very clever, nicely executed and presented.
#1 for me (just to be awkward).

Nice take on the theme.

Number 2 for me but would have prefered all 3 with snow or all 3 without.

As ever, the number of different takes on the theme each week is staggering.

Hah - now I understand the :suspect: on my thread .

Good idea, nice tryptich (great minds and all that jazz!) - personally prefer the edit, leads you in to the middle more :)

Cheers Nick :D

I counldn't get the same view point for all snow from the living room window sill. :D

think I prefer number 2 as my eyes are led more into the middle snow shot on this one.. great interpretation of the theme scott!

This is a really neat take, it works well. No 2 for me, the lines from both sides push my eye central:thumbs:...Mick

I really like your approach to the Street theme. Wouldn't have thought about doing something like that myself. Short days is the real curse of the photographer when you're stuck at work nine to five isn't it? I agree that it looks better left to right for some reason. Keep it up :)

A good idea, the second one works better and makes more sense. Although I get the point about the first one...

Nice set of images, a strong week 4, well done

Thankyou :)

Clever take on the theme.

I like the idea of number 2, but number 1 works better for me as a set of photos.

Jean

Thank you Jean :)

Month 1 over and done with :bonk: thanks for all the comments they are really helpfull and I know how much time it takes to visit sooooooo many threads.

One of two ideas that came off pretty good and not what most of you might have thought ;) Still might add a second option same idea just a rearrangement of the books and to try and remove the flash hotspot.

Some of my reading material :D

No.1 for me too Scott.
Although no.2 might be a more logical composition, I really like the way the houses either side frame the centre shot in no.1.

If I was being picky, I'd prefer it if all 3 were taken on the same day or at least in the same conditions. It feels a little bit odd to me just having snow in the middle one

Brilliant idea though and it goes to show that you don't actually have to venture very far for an interesting street image.

EDIT: and for some reason, your image for week 5 has only just popped up on my screen . . . NOT LOOKING . . . NOT LOOKING . . . NOT LOOKING

Scott, your speed image is fantastic, it reminds me of the cover flow screen on itunes (if that makes sense). That could easily be an advertisement for those books. Speed in more ways than one, yours must be the first/fastest post for this weeks theme. Well done, its very creative

great take on the theme scott.. used to quite err.. like barry sheene back in the day ;)

nice crisp reflection and great lighting

I've just broken my one rule and looked before I've submitted.

This is great, sharp, well lit, nice reflections and a great take on the theme.

I wouldn't bother reshooting, I think the flash has added a great element to the picture. I was wondering how you'd done it at first. Looks great and works better than just a basic reflection!

Thank you Sarah, I think I will do a re-shoot later just want as little parked cars and wheelie bins as possible

Thank you, I think the best ideas come thick and fast and you have to act quickly.

He was a bit of a pin up back in the 70s/80s. I only watched him race one :(

:D I have no problem looking once I have my idea, no matter how good the other shots are I wouldn't change ;)

That's a very clever image, Scott. Matches the theme perfectly.

Jenny

Thank you Jenny

Cheers, a little trial and error. Books sat on frosted glass dinning room table, ttl cord on flash/camera and remote shutter cord. Flash held from below table up against the glass(2 layers as its extendable). Now looking, agree on the hot spot adding to the overall shot.

Nice use of reflection and light, mate. Cracking job despite Mansell's 'tache!

Very clever shot for Speed, although personally I would feather out the reflective books to black, rather than having the whole book reflected....but that's just me! ;)

I'm with others - don't go for a reshoot!
The light's just right and the composition's brilliant.
I love the colours too.
Foggy for PM! :-)

Cracking shot Scott for this weeks theme the lighting and the reflection is top draw.

Interesting reading as well

Street: I much prefer the first of the two arrangements - it looks more 'natural' its a good concept well executed :)

Speed: Well lit and set up - needs a slight straighten (or my eyes do) a degree or so anti clockwise but its hardly noticeable - very nice!

Cheers, he doesn't look right without it :D

Thank you, may have a play when my PP skills improve.

No reshoot then. Foggy for PM..... That would be interesting!

Cheers, worked out better than I thought.

Thank you, straighten tool suggests -0.47 ish...well spotted.

interesting shot Scott, i can see your influences. I'm surprised to see Foggys biography on the bottom though, i thought that would be centre stage

Cheers, his cover is mainly black which blended a little too much into the background.

Great effort for Speed!

And... Barry Sheen is dead is he? :( 2003 - I guess I don't keep up with current events much...

Anyway, As was said earlier, I also think this looks like the cover thingy on iTunes. I love the set up, I think the lighting is spot on, and the composition is excellent.

And it's a brilliant take on the theme.

Where's Keanu?

:)

Ian.

Love Speed, Barry Sheene was my idol number 7 he was so gorgeous ;)
