Well looking out of my bedroom window, and I can't see much because of the fog. Was supposed to be going out early visiting, but I might give it a miss. I am in the North West region, and it's foggy where I am. Is it foggy in your area, wherever that is?

South east here....Kent.
Foggy McFoggington here too.
Nutters out in force on the roads.

Seems the Nutters are up this end also, on the M62. Got the news on, been a smash on the M62 Eastbound. I was supposed to be jumping on the M62 at it's start for a junction or two, may look for an alternative route, or may call the visit off. If it clears soon, will visit a little later..

Very foggy here yesterday but almost clear here today. Hopefully your fog will burn off in time for you to do the visit later.

clear skies here but I can see the fog lying over England from my perch up in the Welsh hills :naughty:

Still a little foggy here, plus my missus is in lots of pain in her arms. So it looks like we are not going out after all, probably get a few chores done instead :(

Foggy in St Ives, Cambs, trees dripping like mad (my hooter too now I've returned from the market)

Me and the missus are having a cuppa and a cake, while we watch the fog swirl over the roof tops. Nice and cosy, watching it from indoors :)

Thanks :)

But still a little bit of fog about as of 11.25am , decided to have a lazy day in and catch up on some films, while I twaddle on the computer :)

It did come over murky and misty for a time this morning here at Folkestone, but now the warmth from the low November sun in clear skies is enough for me to sit on the back yard doorstep in shorts and T shirt. Mind you, the local wasps are also making the most of it, it's their last final fling by the looks of it.

Just checking, hope there is no windy Weather on it's way ;)

Not foggy here in NW Scotland. The good visibility is down from the 25 miles or so of yesterday to about 4, but that is cloud. I think there might be a bit of rain on the way.

Hi John. :D There is going to be that slow and subtle change to somewhat more changeable conditions as we go into the second half of the week and into the weekend but unlikely to be anything too outrageous.
Seems that while Thursday may start off on a dry and bright note, it could end up as being rather cloudy and damp for most of us come Guy Fawkes evening, but even so it is unlikely to be a total wash out.

Well, it was clear on top of THIS hill! Bleedin' foggy on top of Telegraph hill and it caught someone out. 2 ambulances and over a mile of tailback at about 10AM. Hope all concerned are OK. From the glimpse Mrs Nod got, it looked like someone had just taken the car in front roughly from behind.

Come on Ian, you must know that forecasters say 'misty and murky' ! these are the rules! ;)

Not necessarily, it could be their last but one final fling. ;)

Ok I'm going.

Just had a look out over the veranda, the fog is still there. Looks pretty eerie the way the street light glow through the fog :)

Cleared here midday, now back with a vengeance :( and yes idiots are still driving without lights :banghead:

Glad I did not go out, was meant to be doing motorway travelling. The fog is starting to get more thick up this end, the streets look spooky in the swirling fog.

Does my head in, I don't know how you cannot think to turn your on lights at all in thick fog (& heavy rain, near darkness etc)... unless you're busy concentrating on breathing perhaps? Or maybe the car didn't do it automatically? Who knows! Then there's the muppets who think that they DRLs on the front will suffice, oh wait no the back of your car is still completely dark. Well done. And of course a special mention to those who manage to find the foglight switch and turn them on, but then - to presumably save the effort of re-finding it when it next happens to be foggy - just leave them on.

Nearly got wiped out pulling out onto the road this morning by some idiot in a black Range Rover with no lights on, just appeared out of the murk like a ghost ship. Grrrr.

Rant over.

Pretty much the way of things here today too.

Rant away, I feel the same, and I bet he either flashed his lights or blasted the horn at you :banghead:
On the van the rear fogs turn off automatically when you turn the engine off, a bit of a pain in this weather

Don't think we have used the fog lights on our car, only had the car nearly a year. Will have to have a look where the switch is for the fog lights ..

What car is it ?
On my Leon you pull out the light switch, the van, which is a Vauxhall has a separate switch below the light switch

Strictly speaking the rear fogs are purely for the safety of the car occupants rather than to benefit others as people should only ever drive at a speed where they can safely stop within the distance they can see to be clear, so even if a car has no lights at all it would be purely the fault of the person hitting them as they were not following this basic rule of the road.

It is the Volvo V40, I will have to dig out the owners manual. I had to refer to the manual changing the clock for the hour going back :)

Does my head in when people have fog lights on, and I am stopped behind them at the lights. Or they keep their foot on the brakes, and the brake light are blinding you, as you sit behind them :(

In their infinite wisdom, Jaguar put the fog light switch under the boot release button, JUST within reach. I think I surprised the driver behind me when I switched the fogs off when we emerged from the gloom and visibility improved to well over 100m. In their same wisdom, the newer models with stop/start stop the engine when at rest with the footbrake depressed - apply the handbrake and release the footbrake and the engine starts again, meaning that to achieve its objective in reducing fuel use, the car wants to annoy the following drivers.

On our Volvo V40 the stop start is annoying I hate it activated, at junctions and roundabouts it is dangerous as it pauses when engine cuts off ! I always de activate it, when I first get in the car. But it re activates itself when you turn the ignition off. There is no way to de activate it permanently, or at least that is what Volvo told me :(

:D I could save a few more pressing of the keyboard button by typing it up as "mirky" or "musty". Perhaps it'll catch on like "snizzle" (light icy rain/snow mix).

Just about to start my journey home & looking out of my hotel room window there is some fog but not as bad as is was yesterday

Maybe so, but l prefer to see and be seen, rarely use them but you can't rely on other idiots to drive within their visibility limits and would rather not get hit.
My job requires me to park frequently on the side of the road so hazard flashes and fog lights on.
lt's mainly a 40 limit country road but even in bad weather people speed round bends etc.

No sign of any fog this morning, I can see the street lights very clearly. If there was any fog about, the street lights start to glow through the fog..
