Hi All,

well I know I posted last night with problems getting a nice blurry depth of fied effect, but tonight I just thought I would go for some close up macro shots, and right off the bat ( a bat which is either going to visit my head or the camera at this rate) I have run into further problems.

tonigth I cant seem to get the camera to focus.

It seems fine if I am a fair distance away, but the minute I try to get in real close (Physically or zooming or both), the camera just cant seem to focus, I have tried macro mode, normal mode and even manual focus (which was a bit painful, slow and would not focus)

Here are the shots, and as always kicks in the right direction are appreciated.

its the canon sx40 hs it says and apparently the minimum focusing distance is 0mm read on some forums people have taken pics with stuff right up against it

What Neil said.

It's a bit like holding a book up so the text is in focus then moving it closer. Eventually you won't be able to focus and the the text will be blurred.

At least I think this is analogous...
