Yes
...who took your camera?
And what did you photograph if anything?

Im off to focus on Tuesday but unsure whether or not to take my camera.
Im not really going to buy anything but may be persuaded with a battery grip....and/or a filter.....

So....to take it or not to take it..

The only thing I saw worth shooting was the arrogant, condescending little salesman on one of the Album stalls...the phrase "chip on shoulder" was invented for him.

Bob

PS....you might want some shots of the seductive long white Canon lenses on their stand though

I took mine, I would say it is worth it if you just want some random shots. My Flickr Set here - http://195.177.193.138/forums/showthread.php?p=549220#post549220 - nothing amazing, but fun.

Take a CF/SD or something card with you if you dont take your camera so you can play with some of the cameras on offer on the Canon stand ;) Guess the Nikon people might offer the same, I didnt venture in there :p

I'm taking mine Adele

I'm only taking it so I can play with some lenses though, not sure I will actually photograph anything for photography's sake though.

I wouldnt go expecting to get some amazing shots, for a photography event the lighting was horrid :p ISO1000 @ F4 is the best I managed :(

Didnt take photos of the equipment, but i was like a kid in a sweet shop when it came to the models.
One thing though, why set up a studio with all the gear and not let the public use the radio gear to try it out?????? or at least they didnt when wanted to:(
Here are a few with only the ambient/modelling lights.

Gonna have to get some kind of TP ID:lol:
Dean:)

I'm definitely going to be there tomorrow & am going to take my camera along for the ride, looking forward to getting some crowded candid shots :p

I am also heading to the show in the morning, but think I will just take a compact plus memory cards. This will give me the option of taking a few shots from the stands such as Canon without having to carry my own camera around all day.

Dont get any of me!! :)

Braeden, DiddyDave and I, are all sharing one car down. :D
So that'll be 3 more TP members there.

I also considered doing that....

If you dont take your camera you WILL regret it:bang:

Driving to the NEC is easy :p

Be warned there was A LOT of ques to get into the NEC when we arrived (about 10am) and they got worse, so might want to get there early.

I'm collecting DD and Delli early doors (around 7:30) so with a 2 hour drive and 30 mins in a queue for parking we should be ok :)

I've driven to the NEC plenty of times before - I was just thinking that a nice relaxing passenger ride would have been a nicer way to go :D

for those going tomorrow it is only £6.00 to park at the railway station rather than £8.00 at the N.E.C, but you need to get to the station early

Or just stay until 6pm and then you dont seem to need to pay, or we didnt anyway! (We parked in one of the North car parks I think)

You got some nice shots of her. My mate and I was watching her today and thought she was a fabulous model. Not only is she gorgeous but the way she went from pose to pose and how she would pose for each of togs taking pics of her was great to see.

We parked in E1 car park and there wasn't anyone at the gate when we arrived or when we left.

hiya, i'm going to focus today too, hope to see some of you there. I've lost the thread that said when/where you're meeting, got to leave in half an hour but if anyone knows, i'd be grateful, thanks

Just to say a thank you to wkaibigan for the tip... that car park was totally unmanned all day, in and out no bother. £7 saved. But spent on a 4gb Sandisk Extreme III for £23 and a (don't laugh, i'm going for it) Lightsphere for £41.... Should've took my camera to test it out properly to see what I thought but tried it on some crappy canon, jus' kiddin'... and it seems useful when shooting people in an environment like the nec with the very high ceilings.

Tried a little test on one stand... shooting with a 1dmkII with a 35-300mm *i could be slightly inaccurate here* lens at a fixed spot for 1/4sec exposure. How embarassing for me. An extreme test but one worth thinking about... can you train yourself for longer exposures. The chap looking after the stand, promoting courses and a wedding photographer himself, could do it no problem with very little sleep and though it would really only be useful in a dark setting such as a church when shooting ambient scenes, ie no moving objects, it is a very good skill. Thank heavens for my VR lens. :D

Think my strategy for covering the show backfired as I ended up losing it and seeing several stands repeatedly before escaping...

Didn't think much of most of the models there but hey ho, they did a job and it was the last day.

I popped back for an hour late this aftie, basically just to see what last day deals were about, and to pick up a book I decided I wanted ... after I'd left on Sunday! :bonk:

Didnt see much in the way of deals, one stand had a sign up with 'last day price' on the Canon 50mm 1.4... for £220 & the 17-40mm for £500! :gag:
I think Warehouse Express everyday prices are cheaper than that!

Saw a nice Lowepro Flipside for £49 ... but unfortunately they didnt have the all black left.
Oh & talking of black ... Jade was sporting a nice black bobbed wig on the Bowen stand ... hope someone got pics!
