Focus on Spending!

£22.50 in wetherspoons, £5 on paper and £30 on a monopod :)

I would have spent more but just spent £200+ with a certain peddler of flashy things so didn't have much dosh left.....

I was a good boy! Had the D3s sensor cleaned. Bought a sensor cleaning kit and some software. Only spent about £170.
I did try. But couldn't find anything I needed. Feel a bit deflated really....

my first shot with my new camera:)

me think it overexposes but have to double check it :)

£35 on a acrylic panel from Lion.

saw some lovely gear today, I was very tempted by a few things. But a jaunt to NYC in a couple of months restricted what I could do!!!

only parking charge for me. Was looking for a nifty fifty and also wanted a 150cm octobox but didnt find either at what I thought was a grab it now price. However managed to get a good look at some new framing suppliers who have some nice ranges and also decide on wedding album suppliers.
I managed to bag a bargain kids isofix car seat at Dunlop Fort on the way home saving 30% on the online prices I had seen dont know if that really counts :) oh and a few tubes of tennis balls

Ermmm some guy in a booth. :D He did my D300 last year also. I had intended to just buy the gear this year, but got grease on the sensor yesterday and decided to let the pro do it this time.
I'll stick with basic cleaning for my first time.;)
Cost? £35 and I left it with him for an hour.
Its was somewhere behind the Nikon stand and to the left.
Make sure to go there as soon as it opens though. last year I didn't and had to leave the camera with him for 3 hours!

Kev.

NO WAY are you going to sneak that one under the radar young man! :D

Good for you :)

Wondered if you would have spotted that  Will you be wanting a play?

By 10:36 I had a phone call from my CC company asking me if I had my card on me :D

was a good show, loads of photoalbum companies, too spoilt for choice and no idea who to go with now lol...

the girly spent most of her time hanging around the wacom stand (she ended up buying a wacom intious 4 medium, gorgeous - rather wanted one for myslef... :) and I got a spare 5d II battery... grand total of 340 spent :)

want to go back and spend money on something lol

Did anyone notice how much the Nikon 16-35mm was on Jacobs stand?

Kev.

I spent.................£8 on car parking!!! Always hurts that does! Can I claim - :1st:

Hint. Parking at Birmingham International station is £5 per day with a covered walkway and travellators into NEC. You never need to pay NEC parking fees. Station is no furtheraway.

Hi All,

Having spent a couple of thousand last week on the camera I will only be buying all the back issues of mags I don't subscribe to as I enjoy turning the pages. Along with a photographers jacket but don't know what one.

Also there on Tuesday with a bunch of mates. We ought to wear great big badges saying Talk Photography.

If anyone sees me please stop for a chat. Badge says:

Mr Chris Grew

Managing Director

SWI

Regards

Chris

got me a battery grip and a remote cord...

also had a good mooch about, said hello to Garry at Lencarta, saw the Kit they have donated for this months competition prize..had a chuckle at some exhibitors and was envious of others. All in all, good times.

Did anyone happen to notice the best price for a Canon 550D body please?

Anyone notice Sony Stand ? Off on Tuesday and fancy an A850.

From where ??

Can't wait to tomorrow

The Jacobs stand next to Canon. It was B Stock, Lens and body are literally brand new though, just a tatty box. It wasn't priced and when the girl scanned it it went through as a Canon 50d + 17-85 B stock. BARGAIN! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Sony were there with a good sized stand. Jacobs and Cameraworld had some good prices on lenses, see the Sony thread in the equipment forum where I've posted the ones I can remember.

I wasn't intending to spend anything but was looking generally at tripods / monopods as have been struggling to decide which way to go as my very cheap tripod is a bit broken.

After chatting with folks at lunch I kind of decided not to buy the cheaper aluminium tripod I had seen before lunch but then I saw the Giottos Vitruvian.

Packs up small, still couldn't afford the carbon fibre but it converts to a monopod. I'll need to buy a better head at somepoint but I decided to order one and hopefully it will be with me mid March. It felt sturdy withoug being too heavy.

On the Giottos stand they were saying a retail price of £200.00 but I was given a price of £159.00 on another stand so ordered and payed there and then.

I'm guessing by the replies you're all on about a camera show?

We all went for a drink at wetherspoons and there happened to be a camera show on a few doors down.
