Yes
I live in Somerset, not been for a few years, who is going ? Anyone no of any good deals going on ?

For me its a long drive, i think i am going to give it a miss.

I'm giving it a miss this year - been to the last three.. It's become a little too consumer for me - and the fact my brand 'Canon' won't be there.. So think I'll be saving the drive to Birmingham this time around..

I didn't go last year, and won't be going this. In terms of show bargains, there's very little that can't be matched on the internet or eBay. However, it's great if you want to handle the gear in person before committing.

The more esoteric stuff [the large format stuff, lighting and accessory setups] are worth a look if you're considering it.

Think I might make the trip. Will be my first day out since the op.

Still not 100% decided mind, Ill see how I feel come the time.

Of course it's worth going..... If you want bargins go on E-bay or car boot sale....

Bristol is not far, We are on the M4 Newbury way and its a doddle to get to. Bristol up the M5 and over M42....

You only have to walk to your car and walk to the bus at NEC. Need some exercise on the day surely?

Simples!!!!!

hhmmmm

I may go. I don't want to buy anything apart from a Z Finder. We will see... what days are people going ? Maybe everyone could report back on the bargains and i may go on the Wed !

I've been wondering the same thing. I was planning to go this year for the first time but it's a long way for us, and expensive from here, so I think I'll give it a miss for another year. Would be interested to hear about any bargains though!

Was looking to go and do a deal on a Nikkor 50 1.4 ,(maybe a 1.8) a 70-200 2.8 and possibly a 1.7TC.

Worth going or likely to get the same deals locally?

Can't talk about Canikon but CW and Jacobs had some of the G and Zeiss glass in A-mount at well under "grey importer" prices last year. Two years ago there were superb prices on the A900 to be had.

I'm not in the market for lenses this year since I've had some expensive bills last two months :( , but I'm going anyway.

Personally I'd have to say it's not really worth going unless you have a half decent reason to go. If your after bargains then you may get lucky but then the £40 or so you'll spend on petrol tends to offset it. We go mostly to see some of our suppliers (and for a new printer this year) but I doubt I'd bother otherwise.

Were going on Monday. about an hour and a half from us.
Bargains to be had when you have a well researched shopping list.
Always usefull for contacts for us too. Wedding album suppliers, ideas and such.
so its worth it for us.
Last year we bought £2000 worth of kit, that was retailing at nearly £3000 on the general market.

Since I've never been I'm going to see what it is all about!

No real reason just meeting some friends and dreaming about owning some shiny kit :-)

Richard you will enjoy yourself especially if its your first visit. I would suggest getting there as the doors open as by mid day it gets rather crowded and a job to get to the stands.

Realspeed

i don't need any gear (but that doesn't mean i won't buy any :bonk:), but i've never been, so i fancy having a gander.

Plus i've gone to the trouble of getting a free ticket - may as well use it.

I'm kind of in the same dilema, not really in the market for anything new but interested just to go and have a look at whats on offer and maybe attend a seminar or 2, as not been before. The £40 petrol and £10 parking will be far more than any saving I will make so not really worth it from that point of view...

Are there likely to be any computer suppliers there ?

I am in the market for a new computer but it would have to be a stonking deal for me to part with some cash.

I Also want a copy of elements 9 so will be looking out for any deals on that? Need to do some research to find out the best price on-line. Although without the computer it would be pretty useless getting it at the moment.

Plan to arrive early with some drink and sarnies for lunch.

How sure are you of this?

Hmm they were on the floor plan when i last looked but now i see they wont be there

Latest Focus on Imaging news: Canon has confirmed it will no longer have a stand at Focus, as part of the company's 'ongoing marketing plans' for 2011.The company has had a significant presence on the show floor in recent years, which leaves a significant space to fill

Anyone know if there are any camcorder suppliers there? I am after one of the new Canon XF100s so I might go if there was a chance to bag one.

Quite often PC manufacturers include Elements with new PCs, so may be worth getting the PC first...

You think so... well I got a Canon 9000 PRO for only £225 from Jacobs and that I call a Bargain..

I will be there on Monday with my two lady's Maria and Zoita

Anyone know why Canon are not there?

Is there any disadvantage to going on the Wednesday, as opposed to the Monday or Tuesday? eg, there are offers on Wednesday, but do any stands pack up early etc?

I am trying to decide about going. Have free ticket but 100 miles each way plus parking... Happy with Loxley, Kaleidascope and Oxford for products, think it would be nice to see others but unlikely to change, may buy kit if good prices (CameraKing I think is selling refurb Nikon stuff)... Not really interested in anything else.
