Its Canson Paper Mills themselves. You would find them in the exhibitors catalogue. Absolutely loved their Platine fibre paper for B&W prints. unfortunately they sold out all their A3 stock on sunday noon itself.

have just come back...CC took a bash...

I got:

D700 + MBD10 + Nikon Batt = £1629
Black Rapide double Strap = £115

Saw the D7000 for £849 at the Jocobs stand.

If buying from the Jacobs stand always negotiate!!!

most places didn't take amex by the way, saw lots of people hving to try and find other cards for payment

Loads of places don't take AMEX, the reason the cash back deal is so good is the retailer is paying for it, I read somewhere their commission is 4% which is double the others

£299 for a Canon G11 B stock... I thought that was a bit dear and they wouldn't budge... must depend who you talk to.

I think the prices were pretty good at the show, not massive savings but most retailers shaving off a few quid here and there...basically you have to spend to save :) Of course, being photography it all adds up to hundreds or even thousands... Not many freebies giveaways though...

Lots of nerds with Christmas jumpers, big backpacks and SLR's at the ready though...not sure there was anything to photograph...

Well, nerds in Christmas jumpers would make an interesting subject for a start. The HP scooter was pretty amazing too, and countless other things with a little creative imagination. :)

Generally always carrying a phone due to being self employed! Cant get one without a camera nowadays!

Anyone know if Jacobs still have any 7D bodies in stock at Focus? I heard they were doing them for £999 which might tempt me to go down tomorrow and bag one.

Can anyone confirm this price? If so I may give Calumet a call and see if I can get one without going to the show!

Not my photo taken from the thread about the show in Talk Business, as it seems my WORD is not enough for you

Just got back from Focus today, some reasonable deals knocking around between the dealers, partic on refurb models.

Caught a few minutes of Heather Angel and Andy Rouse on the Nikon stand, but it was understandably crammed, also a good demonstration on the Flash Centre's stand.

Came back with a new lightstand and umbrella from Calumet with a brolly holder thrown in free and a Lastolite Ezybox Speedlite softbox for £40 and also a few rolls of Ilford film. Managed to resist the lure of the D3s on the Nikon stand. For now.

Lowrie, it was near the Yellow eatery, my mate pointed it out or I'd have missed it. Sadly I didn't have a lens for the 1D3 I bought. :D

Nudes? Nah, don't need to bother, get enough of it 'round my way, my twenty something neighbours are nudists and swingers and often have their friends and others from the club round... :)

Please tell me you don't live down the Saff, that could be scary :gag:

That sounds like some certain parts of Bristol or Glastonbury

Has anybody seen any decent deals on bags?

I need a smallish bag for 1 body and 2 lenses, but not sure if its worth the trip all the way there just for that. Ive got my "pro" pass ready, but not sure if I can be bothered to go.
I also need some little bits like a DK-17M and maybe a new tripod again..
I could do with a sensor clean too, I cant seem to shift the stubborn bits. Anybody notice if anyone was offering that on the day?

Hi Tom,

Saw a sensor cleaning service on one stand. Voucher available to reduce cost to around £33 i think it was. Watched the guy doing one and very thorough clean of the whole camera. Sorry can't remember the stand name. It was to the far right of the exibition if you go!

Cheers,

Tracey

That or just annoy visible dust stand people into cleaning it for free. Mine was fairly clean, so I didn't benefit as much as another guy with disgusting 5D mk1 not cleaned since new :gag:

Awesome thanks. Might be worth the trip then.

Did I really see this today at Focus. If so a great price for a great camera.

In case anyone else is wondering, Jacobs just confirmed to me that these items are only available at the show.

Yes you did, or £849 for the D7000 + 18-105 lens kit.

Fantastic price for a 5 month old camera. :)

Saw the D7000 for £699, not too shabby.

I picked up a Nissin Di622 Mk11 for £119. Not the biggest bargain ever but a few quid cheaper. I also got a Tamrac Evo 6 back for £60 ish and a 9 stop 77m ND filter for £58 and a 77mm circ pol for £30.
Couldnt find the visible dust stand, so paid £37 for a full sensor and camera clean. Seems to have done a good job and saved me carrying the camera around all day.

Had to LOL had at all the folks carrying around 400 and 500mm lenses... why??? Might aswell just flop yer John Thompson out and walk around like that.

Oh and I got in free without an hassle at all.

Westcott brolly, adaptor and stand was a bargain £65 at 1stcameras - good I thought

Westcott Apollo with stand for £135 also a good deal

Massage - how much you thought it was worth. I gave a tenner (both times), it was that good :)

Glad I didn't have any dollar in the bank because discount or no discount, those D3s bodies were sweet

Noticed Cameraworld were doing a refurb 14-24mm f/2.8 for £950

Dammit, I was so going to go for that, but I thought it'd be like £20 or something. I didnt realise it was a pay what you want type affair. :'(

I'd have given them £30 for a full body..

Yesterday I went armed with a fiver but aside from feeling a bit of a tightwad, the girl worked me hard and deffo deserved another fiver. Think she was surprised when I popped back after a trip to the cash machine to give her the other fiver, true to my word. :)

I never do spontaneous stuff like that but aside from the fact I was inbetween seminars, I'd been promising myself a massage for ages.
