Focal lengths of small sensor cameras ?

I use some of my lenses reversed in front of my main lens as a macro dioptre. For this knowing the actual makes a big difference & FOV would be fairly useless.
Reversing a 50mm lens on a APSC kit zoom (18-55) would give a bit under 1/2 lifesize to a fraction over lifesize on the sensor.
A 28mm reversed on my 100mm macro lens will give images at around 4x lifesize. Both of these took seconds to work out, so I can have a chance to select a suitable combination before the subject has disappeared.
If using extension tubes again the actual focal length is vital to picking the right extension.

All this would really be confusing if we didn't have the 36 x 24 full frame (or similar) as a standard of comparison.
