I've recently bought a couple of small handcases for transporting my gear while away working. They're only cheap cases and as such didn't come with any foam inside, so does anyone have any ideas about where you can get it? I'm looking for the stiff foam that can be cut out to accomodate my gear.

Any ideas? :)

Calumet do their own brand of the "pick" type foam inserts that are in the Peli cases

Cheers, quick replies as always!

EDIT: A set of foam on it's way from casemarket :)

Cheers Chilli, they'll do for my two smaller cases, can't find a Peli set that'll fit.

How do you go about cutting and shaping the foam?

The Peli case foam I've already ordered is pre-diced, so you pull out the segments to fit your gear, the other stuff I'll be cutting with a long, thin saw blade or knife, not sure yet. It doesn't need to be pretty, it's to keep my gear safe when travelling up and down the company on a coach!

Peli cases (or the equivalent) are excellent for secure equipment storage. Recommend it highly!

Wish I could afford Peli cases! The one's I've got are the flightcase style ones but they should do the job well enough, I have my Tamrac for carting my gear round day to day, the cases are just for travelling (I spend far too long on coaches, planes, minibuses and trucks!)

Here is a an option for foam cut to size as well as "pick and pluck" foam for packing objects such as cameras:

do you work for them? if you do, any chance of any actual acoustic data for your acoustic foam? is it going to go yellow in 4 weeks?
