weekly Flyphots 52 for 2022: - Week 52 'Showcase'

Water. A Lovely scene. It just makes me want to be there.
Handles. They look interesting Jim. They’ll look great, I bet, when back on the sideboard.

Water is a lovely scene, the light is beautiful.

The handles shot looks great. The vignette works well in directing you to the subject.

The textured background works well for the handles.. nice use of light too.

Well spotted... I like the way they disappear around the bend.

That’s a great spot Jim.

Thanks both - it was one of those moment where I'd wished I had my 'real' camera with me (although with the lack of rain we're having they'll probably still be there in a month's time!

Quite subtle, I had to look a couple of times to see the theme, well seen.

Today I volunteered for our local Beekeepers Association (another expensive hobby!!) as a steward at a local Country Show. Had a lovely day and managed to bag a couple of images for this week's theme, I hope you like them ...

Buying local honey

The entries for the honey competition

Honiton? If so, you may know one of my golf buddies who was working the same tent. He would have been the one you needed to walk around!

Does he walk with a stick, and live in Exmouth?

Two good images Jim, can't beat home made honey.

Thanks Dave - indeed home produced honey is fantastic, and so much better than the adulterated rubbish that supermarkets are selling for a couple of quid a bottle/jar (imported and diluted with syrup!)

Fab pix! I used to love honey but alas, I'm not allowed it now.

Thanks Dave, what a shame you can't have honey. Funnily enough I used to hate it, but love it now!

That's the man.

Hoping for a teaspoonful of his bees' produce at some point but not sure how much he'll have left after his son's wedding!

Personally, I prefer the other shot but only just!

Two good shots Jim, It's interesting seeing the various colours of the honey in the jars.

Thanks Bill, yes honey colour varies quite a bit, depending on what the bees have been foraging on.

Two nice captures. The jars look yummy as I love honey!

Thanks Helen, I have a new colony of bees this year so i've had no honey from them but, next year i'm hoping i'll get a good harvest (but cut comb and jars) :)

I really like the action in the first shot. A real scene. Nice perspective too.

Week 32 - Internals

This is the lower station of the Penkenbahn gondola lift in Mayrhofen, Tirol, Austria (currently here on holiday - and it's bleddy lovely!). This image shows the internals of the station as a car leaves to make its way up the 1135 metre ascent (to 1790 metres above sea level).

That's an interesting shot Jim, it would be cool to do something similar from inside the gondola looking back.

Does this go up a ski hill?

Thanks Bill, yes it goes up to a ski hill, but in the summer lots of hikers and paraglider pilots go up there. Apparently it's the scariest gondola in Austria - it goes a long way fro the ground on 2 separate sections.
