weekly Flyphots 52 for 2022: - Week 52 'Showcase'

I like the Ice. Lovely clean shot.

Week 24 'Beginning with the letter P' - fortunately i've been in Llangollen this week, so managed to get up to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and canal basin, so here are a few for the Week 24 theme.

As you can see, it was a cloudless morning, and very hot even at around 10 am!

Great shots Jim, I like your chosen shot of the Paddlers.

Fab set of a familiar location!

Loved the canoes. Looked a braw day.

Thanks Joan, it was a lovely day and very warm, just a shame there weren't more clouds to add some interest to the sky and nice light in the background (but, I shouldn't complain).

Very nice boat shot Jim, colourful, sharp and a joy to see :D

A thistle I saw, growing from a rocky outcrop up on Castel Dinas Bran, above Llangollen (it's a steep walk up there!). I loved the way the light caught the flower head and the contrast of the shadows across the image.

I like how the light is falling on the thistle head to with the shadows falling off nicely, good shot Jim.

Thanks Dave, much appreciated

I particularly like the perspective in the first two shots, that ultra wide feeling is great.

Thanks Nick, yes they were taken with the 10-24 on, wide open so gives a really wide feeling.

Nice colour captured Jim, I might have cropped in a bit tighter (bottom and left hand side).

Pete

Lovely boat shots Jim. I especially like #1 with the wooded hills in the distance.

Nice light on the flower against the shadows.

Some lovely shots from your holiday. Have to say the aqueduct looks great fun.

A catch up (not fully, but it will have to do for now as life is V Busy!) - both mobile phone images

Week 26 - One Half of a cottage being thatched (not sure why they aren't doing the other half.

Week 27 - Post + tech Dappled Light (no explanation needed)

Both good shots Jim. No houses with thatch where I live but lots of home looking to convert to solar panels....

Every time I see a picture of that aqueduct, I can't help thinking... "you could easily fall off a boat and over the edge."

So, despite the slightly sweaty palms I get looking at them, I love the shots - canoes is probably my fave as it feels more unusual.

Great spot and capture on the light hitting the thistle head too.

Both shots fit the bill. I know what you mean about life taking over so well done on keeping up with the 52.

I really like the way the shadow and light work in the cottage shot. The shadow says 'nothing to see here' and the light says 'look at this'.

The figure in the foreground on Post really adds to it.

Both work well Jim and I'm intrigued about the half finished thatch.

Thanks all, really appreciate the comments. Apologies for being a bit tardy in replying but life is V busy at the moment (hence needing to keep catching up).

As i'm still playing catch up I need to rely on an archive image (from a month ago), for Water. Horseshoe falls in Llangollen ...

Week 29 'Handles'

a selection of victorian brass furniture handles, taken from a sideboard that my wife is renovating (I hate the word 'upcycling')
