Flippin ebay....

I also love getting this sort of old film stuff off eBay - it's just so damn cheap!

I won a Canon Ixus APS film camera the other day for £2.50 and 5 rolls of film for a fiver  Why not, I say

Yes we have this addiction. We have a collection of around 150 old cameras.

We use all our cameras and have great fun processing the film.

You can see the cameras and a few photos taken with them on our website

Jenny.

yeah, but only rangefinders really.
I'm going to get another Electro if it kills me...and a Werra

oh, and I want a Brumberger, and a minolta hi-matic

Thats ok then, thought i had a problem! haha

I missed out the 6x6 Zeiss Ikon as well! That was ony about £4 as well.

The OM1 was about £35 (really is mint and my fav), the trip was £4.99 and the 1000s was £30.

all good healthy fun!

Heh, it's reassuring to see I'm not the only one seduced by cheap old cameras.

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a near-mint Ensign 16-20 MF folder for £8.50 inc P&P and a mint Zenit 12XP with a couple of lenses (Helios 44m-4 f2 & Sirius 80-200mm f3.9), 2x tele convertor and flash for £20 inc P&P (half of the amount was postage, it was a very heavy shoe-box size package).

I haven't used the Ensign yet but I've been out with the Zenit a few times. Great fun.

I'm gradually collecting bits and pieces to develop my own B&W 35mm & 120 negatives and make my own prints so I don't have to be so selective with my shooting due to dev cost/wasting film. The last time I went out I shot about 50+ images with my digital cam but only about 6 with the Zenit.

In the past 3 or 4 years I've bought off ebay

OM1
OM1N
OM2
XA
XA3
Trip 35 (3 of them)

Zenith E
Zenith EM
Zorki 4K
Holga
Lomo LC-A

Pentax 110 (mini slr taking 110 cartridges)
Pentax ME Super

Fuji 69GSWII (6x9 MF rangefinder)

Horseman LX-C 5x4

I'm slowly working my way through them.

I bought a Zenit E a while ago for peanuts, mainly for sentimental reasons as it was the first SLR I owned.

Is it just me or do other folk like buying old film cameras off ebay?

Started with an OM1 then an M645 1000s then an Oly trip 35... and now a http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250377592518

I love these old metal film cameras! Such a joy to use!

Anyone else got this adiction as well?

that went bloody cheap

even if you dont use it would make a nice decoration in a back room / study room

In the last month

Canon IXUS APS Camera - charity shop £2.50
2 Halina 35X rangefinders - £2.50 each charity shop
Ilford Sportsman Rangefinder - £2.50 charity shop

3 x APS films - £1.20 ebay.

And the small matter of a Peli case full of mint Nikon FM2, lenses and Metz flash that i bought off my work.

Charity shops are my bane. I just can't say no when an old granny has gone through the bak and been raking around in a mass of boxes and cameras. I got my my chinon, MZ-50 and a 24mm vivitar lens because of those old ladies

PMSL Koomber - those old ladies don't know a hassy collectable from a halina 110 pocket cam. Trouble is you buy 1000s of those plastic not so fantastics in the hope something tidy materialises next time :lol:

Not so fantastic, but I love my Chinon sometimes. The little b****r is built like a tank and it has one many a fight with things that have been in my bag. It seems to have developed a rathr disturbing taste for milk cartons though...

Shame really. I'm going to rationalise my camera collection and sell of my cheapo chinon and the pentax soon. I just got a F80 and would rather not have 2 different makes :(

The prices are great aren't they? I've yet to buy a dud, but at prices as low as £4.12...well.

It's one of the 'safe' things about taking up photography with a film camera. If (unlike me) you are careful you acn usually sell things on for either the same price as you got it, or for a little bit extra and nobody really looses!. If your like me you have to hope you don't have to sell anything, cause then the wife will found out how much of a muppit you were buying that old camera.

Very true.

I can see myself having quite a selection soon... as long as I get to use them though

I used my 30D at the weekend for the first time in ages, only took about 10 shots with it. Must be using film giving me new habbits!

Got the Yashica... and there is a used roll of 'Klick XD100' in it!

Going to get it developed and see whats on it!

We'd be interested to know what was on it when you've got it done. I got a peculiar 35mm camera called a Revue from a used furniture store. Has a lens pop out from behind two barn door covers. It had a part used film in it, but sadly there was nothing on it.

My IXUS APS had a half used film in it - thought it better to bin it !

Well, I've taken the risk... will find out on Friday!

Told the person at ASDA I had no idea what was on it and that I hoped I don't get arrested when I came to pick it up!

I might stick my IXUS APS on the for sale section then :)

I thought nobody would want it, I will have to find it then will stick it on.

I've been contemplating picking up a Minolta XD-5 or XD-7 again.
Great cameras, solid as can be, even work without a battery & I've still got some MD lenses kicking around.
Then it can join it's siblings - Dynax 700Si, 800Si, 5 & 7D :)

Got the fiolm back, not much on it though. Few pics of a garden. I'll have a better idea when i scan them.

ASDA did it for free as most of the frames were blank

Got a mint OM2n for £40,
Another one, boxed and hardly taken out of the box by the looks of it, for £43,
Zuiko 65mm-200mm zoom, even the box was mint, for £70
Zuiko 35mm-105mm zoom for £35 with an OM40 that the seller said was broken, it just needed batteries:lol:
Centon 500mm mirror lens for £40

Ebay is terrible, absolutely terrible.....!:D

Decided to bin the Yash as there is to much gubbins in it (technicaly known as full of cr*p) and all the light seals are stuffed....

however... i just got a Canonet QL 25 for 99p, needs some work but cosmeticaly good.
