Think they are pretty good however I read that Cisco (parent company for Flip) were shutting the operation down? If you choose not to get a Flip there are loads of this type of camcorder on the market which are pocketable and record in HD.

We got my brother in law a FLIP to do his youtube vlogging stuff with.
I can't say its the best footage I've seen from a recording device, seems to struggle in bad light as well.

They are really cheap, but now mostly useless as the majority of mobile phones can now record HD video. I had a Flip Ultra HD, but I sold it when I got my Samsung Galaxy S II as that records 1080p.
The Flip cameras are great for vlogging and stuff like that, and are especially handy for recording behind-the-scenes footage on productions as you can literally give them to anyone and just tell them to go and record.
