Flikr exif info

i have noticed on Flikr that Canon cameras include the lens focal length etc above the camera outline, Nikon and Sony don’t,
Yes they do :) I just looked.
I have Nikon and Sony cameras and lenses.

Thought I would paste my reply from this same question in the D750 thread:

Probably something to do with how the images are exported and if the exif has been removed or not. My flickr images clearly say camera type and lens used if they are exported from lightroom and uploaded from my mac. It’s also in the exif list too. If uploaded via Dropbox it doesnt always show up properly.

The exif information shows up find on my Flickr.

I’ve just had a look at yours, it’s looks like you are stripping out the exif info, most likely during export, and probably like many others are not even aware it’s happening.

There is a school of thought that says the exif data isn’t really that helpful as the settings are mostly specific to that point in time and seeing the settings does mean you know why they were used. I know some people are very keen for that info to appear, whilst I’m not that bothered about that info being there or not I’ve left the info there. I know some people purposely strip out the exif.

I’ve just had a look at some photos and the exif was there on most, I tried to screen grab one without the lens detail and didn’t quite sync the buttons on my iPad, when I re started it and looked again the lens details were there. So I looked at my stacked images from Affinity pro and still got lens details, so it seems to be a hit and miss thing on how flikr is opened on my iPad. Will just live with it, it’s not that much of an issue.

I have a feeling that the Flickr app and the website behave quite differently.

Save For Web (in PS) strips the EXIF IIRC.
