I'm heading to the Okavango next month and have the opportunity to do a 45minute tourist flight over it. Anyone done it? Am I likely to get anything photo worthy from it, assuming I will be shooing through glass. I'm guessing a rubber hood would help but for those that have done it/similar is it worth even contemplating shooting while up?

Thanks

Always worth shooting just for the memories and the chance you may get lucky!

Don't use a polariser, otherwise you'll get horrible patterns on the windscreen. Try to get the front seat (but not the driver's one). I only got to grab a couple as we were flying in...

I was just wondering what a rubber hood did, having not heard of one, so I clicked on the link in the OP. Not what I was expecting!

Why specifically the front seat? As I understand it the planes (think they are usually small Cessna's?) have windows for everyone. Thanks for the tip on the CPL. :)

Which link? My Flickr? The rubber hood is used so you can press up against a piece of glass (cockpit window, zoo enclosure) and get a good seal so you don't get any reflections on the glass. :) Unfortunately I have a 105mm filter size so the hood is rather large... not sure if I'll be able to find one big enough.

Something called "skim link" is adding shopping links in (not sure whether everyone can see this?) I notice it's done exactly the same in my own post.

Let's just say that the "rubber hoods" it links to would get you some funny looks if you got one out of your camera bag :D
