Morning all, just opened a Flickr account and would like to put a link from my Talk Photography threads to my images on Flickr,not very good at things like this can anyone help me out??? :shrug: many thanks :thumbs:
 
I simply go to all sizes on the flickr image I want to display, choose the size closest to but less that 800px (forum limit) and below the image at (2) is the url of the image.

I copy that and paste that in the thread on TP between
(or use the image icon above the text panel (the little mountain/yellow sky/sun image) - click that and past in the url)
 
Morning John, thanks for the reply, in your reply the link I want is that "Myflickr" wording thats under your name,will what you discribe do this,(if that makes any sense ):lol:

Ahhh ok I see well in that case :)

Go to your photostream:

Thatll give you a url in the address bar that looks like:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkstarimages/

Select and copy that

Then edit your signature on TP and using the text editing facilities here type in:

"MyFlickr" and play with the colours as suits

Then highlight the word MyFlickr and hit the hyperlink icon above the text box (a little world with a chain link) and paste in your url :)

Does that make sense?
 
I tried too and couldn't get it to work. I have for some time displayed the URL of my flickr but have never known how to create a hyperlink.
 
Ok , got it now thanks.

It was the copy and paste that didn't seem to work once the hyperlink had been highlighted. By typing the link in manually it worked fine.
 
Brian, it needs to be a certain amount of letters in your post for the signature to show, not sure how many, but just a few words and it wont kick in!!

Thanks Dave - I think it is working but doesn't show if you use "quick reply". However the one you created was much prettier than mine!
 
oh yes it does, I am always using the quick reply to respond to posts, and im trying to make this post long enough to make my sig kick in,, lol

It will only appear once in any post/thread anyway. So the first post has to be long enough for it to appear. My first post was very short to show the point, this one a bit longer.
 
Thanks everyone for the help,will have a play about later,will ask daughter -in-law to see if she can sort it out as I don't seam to be getting anywhere with the damn thing.:help:

Thanks for the info,will try again but think something not right.When I 've just copied and pasted the above in an error message came up saying"BBcode size value is to big" whats all that about :shrug::shrug:
 
Change size to 2 :) and try again (this is an epic :))

Well I did the same and ever since then I cant get on Flickr!! prob a coincidence as i cant get on on the iphone either. grrrr

have checked the firewall on the router.. but its on LOW. I cant get on ANYONE's Flickr and I have purged the browser cache. :bang:

well the progress bar takes for ever in the address bar of flickr.. and eventually i get all the stuff on the page but just as blue writing... no pics or boxes or anything.

the rest of the net seems a bit slow too. ive restarted computer and restarted router. no change. i cant get on here and google and facebook and stuff.

Just when I wanted to upload some photos from today.. grrrr.
 
Hi Janice

Delete all your history and cookies,
Have you Flushed the DNS cache sometimes that stops sites loading when it gets a bad entry,

Start -> Run -> type cmd
- in command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns ..... then press enter
- Done! You Window DNS cache has just been flush
restart your computer

Clicky Flush DNS what windows are you using
