Flickr

have you tried using the flickr uploader. Its an aplication you download and use. I find far easier to use. You can add all tags, names etc before uploading them.
 
The first thing to learn for users of flickr is that flickr is glitchy.

Having said that - have you downloaded the uploader? You can find it in "helpl - tools"

edit: doh! Beat me to it by microseconds...
 
A few other things to consider, how large are the files your uploading, whats your connection speed etc etc.

The Flickr team are pretty good, if your having trouble email them.
 
I have no problems, the files I upload are around 250kb are you sure you're not uploading biiiiig files :D
 
Yeah, as above, if you have a slow connection and are trying to upload 12MB pics then it is possible that the connection might time out, try uploading a very small picture and see if it still does it.
