Flickr views

I've had alot of views over the last two days from an Unknown source. What does this mean? The main photo being viewed has been featured on the BBC nature page, but i can see the hits that have come from there and they only account for a tiny percentage of the total views. So what does this unknown source mean? I've done a Google image search and the photo doesn't seem to be posted anywhere else, so i'm stumped

Not that i'm complaining, just curious really!

It just means that the view has come from a source that flickr cannot track/identify it could be that it's people that mask their ID I guess but by nature of the fact that it's "Unknown" it makes it hard to give a definitive answer :shrug:

Maybe if it's on a BBC page you're getting hits off there and Flickr doesn't recogonise it, it's happened on mine with this unknown source....big brothers watching us or maybe they do have the Internet on Mars

Happened to one of my pics a few days ago. Over 500 views in a day but not explored. The number comment/likes were disproportionately low for that number of views too. Weird stuff.

Had a look on explored photos earlier, there's one of a random bus with a few favourites and one comment saying "crikey", what's all that about! I guess must have all happened in a short time so the Flickr computer thingy picked it up :shrug:
